    Aaaannnddd.....still 19 points behind

Fantastic performance and some brilliant football by Watford, compared to the all too familiar turgid hoofball dross from Cheatski!

Championship winning team plus £212m of new players and you end up with this shambles

The only downside is Conte will probably be sacked, which is a shame given the fantastic job he is doing (according to the man himself  ).

Cue post from Stevo...."empty seats at the Emptihad, ECL trophy, Shity spending loadsa money, no history, blah blah...and repeat!!!!!"

But I thought he was going anyway?

Quite a managerial turnover at Chelski. I guess the impetuous head boy gets bored quickly.
Soon they will run out of managers but Mourinho will probably want to go back in a couple of season. Hopefully not too soon - not until he's bankrupted MU.

Ancelotti or Hiddink doing a caretaker job 'til the end of the season with Luis Enrique in over the Summer??

Enrique would do a great job and would certainly get them playing decent football, but he would need a big budget because the current squad is miles off where it needs to be.

Alternatively Pulis or Hughes would probably be happy to give it a go.

    "Need a big budget"

FFS, how much more money do they have throw at this game before we al get sick and tired of it?

600k a week for Sanchez but Manure don't pay the living wage to staff.

10 players out of the whole PL have signed onto Mata's charity - Mata excepted none of these are from Manure.

Fukkin ridiculous. Insulting to human kind,

Wouldn't it be funny if Conte's failure saved Arsene? 6th place beckons for Chelsea the way things are going. Win win for the outsiders.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

No, 'cos something has to change at Arsenal. For too long they have failed to be greater than the sum of all their parts consistently.
(Apart from a change at board level).

Well now, that's a whole different debate.

FWIW I agree with you that the sums of money spent in recent times in football (transfer fees and wages) is beyond ridiculous.

But, in the context of where Chelsea's squad is qualitywise in terms of competing consistently at the top of the PL and Europe, they have fell some way behind IMO. And the [sad] fact is that to bring in the top level players you need to compete costs ridiculous amounts of money.

Add this to the fact that managers are given so little time and are burdened with the expectations of immediate success, then you have a situation where bringing through academy players and building a team organically over a sustained period of time is just not an option. Buying instant success is the default position now, unfortunately :|

We're not talking of competing consistently at the top of the PL and Europe we're talking losing 3-0 and 4-1 to Bournemouth and Watford. We're not talking Barca and City, but Bournemouth and Watford.

And the players will turn up in their Bentleys, do 3 hours training tomorrow then head off shopping without a care in the world.

If Chelsea were to finish 5th but win the Champions League and Arsenal won the Europa League and finish 6th would England get 6 places in next years Champions League? Or would Chelsea knock whoever finish 4th out?

Or even a 5-1 battering of Leicester!

Would it be a tad premature to start thinking about which charity I think should be £50 to the good?

I would suggest a football club, based in London actually. They used to be right up there but seem to have fallen on hard times, scratching fringe players from the likes of Everton and Arsenal. Go on, help them out if you can.

    It's all good charity stuff.
