If on street parking is possible and the area is reasonably safe then no worries

I spat coffee all over my keyboard when I read this. :D

Why not stay an hour out of London and use one of the designated car parks near the finish line?

I'm parking at Covent Garden (Car Park G) as it will be easier to get to the start in the morning than to cycle to near the start with 100 mile legs in heavy traffic at the end.

I'm staying in a hotel on cromwell road (a4) just down the road from the museums. Nice little 10 mile warm up to get to the start. Although the hotel is the wrong side of the closed off a4. Actually cycle past my hotel on the way out of London so the missus will probably be stood outside in her pj's cheering everyone on

I will look out for her! It is flipping complicated though isnt it. London marathon used to be bad enough but add a bike into the mix and it becomes a logistical nightmare

What sort of time you looking at Tomba?

Hi Cat, was going to abbreviate your user name but its almost offensive! Sorry! I'm just an average club cyclist/mamil. Rode last year and was looking to get under six hours, but managed 4:48. First two hours were just so quick and flat. Look out for the mighty Solihull CC! See you there bright and early!

Awesome! I've got a big manx flag I'm going to stuff in a jersey pocket and drag out for a photo op somewhere along the line so look out for someone laying in a tangled heap after getting his dumbass flag caught in his wheel like a gimp, that'll be me.

There were four video capture zones last year so if you go over a timing mat you have about 10 seconds to whip it out, get it stuck in wheel, and crash.

You've Been Framed only pay £250 these days though, so by the time you have bought the clip and paid for repairs it hardly seems worth it

    Charlie,
How did you get the parking info for this year?
Im recovering my wife this year, (no place for me - BOO) and the closer I can get to Green Park with the roof rack, the better!

Your wife should have an email asking about her travel arrangements. She will need to log into her RideLondon account and book ASAP as I suspect parking will fill up quickly. I think car park I is the closest.

    Charlie,
    Sorry to be a pest
She hasn't got the email as yet, and I want to jump the hordes if possible!
My link for last year doesn't work - would you mind posting it up? No problem if you're not comfortable with that
    Thanks

    Hi Martin,
If your wife logs on to the original registration page with her email and password it should take her straight into it.
Might be worth checking her junk mail folder?

Still no email from my pre paid ballot entry.

Wife and friend have both got theirs and neither got in on the ballot.

From last years experiences how easy or hard was it to access the car parks via road, avoiding the actual route itself were the main routes into London ok or not? Debating a drop off v parking and driving myself home after

Just called the helpline and they are going to re-send the email today.

Don't bother emailing, you have to call them.

Anyone got a GPX file for the 100 route? Would have thought they would put it on the website like Wiggle do...

You really don't need it. The roads are closed, there's only one way to go.

Might come in handy if you are in wave 'A' or the driver of the lead out car.

My thoughts exactly. I am in Wave 'A' and don't particularly want a repeat of last years detour even though it did get me a place for this year.

Really looking forward to it now that most of the details have been published. Lets hope the weather is as good as last year.

If it really bothers you then lift a GPX from one of last year's Strava records. The route looks the same, at least leaving Stratford, and the 'start' is in the same place.

it can be useful for training if you don't know the route.

Managed to break my arm the other week on London to Brighton. Can't ride at the moment so it's touch and go if I can make the event at the moment.

no I was on a Trek Madone. A mountain biker swerved across the road and took out my front wheel. He didn't even stop !

Someone then went over the top of me \ bike while I was on the floor.

Don't think I will ride it next year too many people who just don't know how to ride properly in a group, plus too many slow groups who want to take up the whole road and ride next to each other the whole time

    Was a long shot.

Hope you and the bike recover in time?

Best thing is to start early and miss the muppets.

Does anybody know what happen to the spaces being created by people deferring there entries?
Are there or will there be any reserves being offered places ?
Basically is there any chance that I could get a late place?
    :o
I just read an article on the dangers of heavy drinking....
Scared the shit out of me.
    So that's it!
