What a day for a bike race! Just seen the genesis team bus blown off the road! Lying in a ditch on the A702 #tob2013

One hell of a miserable start at Peebles this morning!! Boys were still in cracking form. Tough day with Xwinds & headwind later!

Yea, lets show those soft Spaniards what a real race profile, and indeed racing weather, is all about.

Just back form the start in Peebles. God awful weather, poor italians and spanish looked well cheesed off. I told big Ian Stannard to get to the front and big ring it and he laughed and said it would prob be drier :D . Quintana looks like he's about 4ft tall...Thats the sun now out typical.
  • Escapees being brought back...

Gap beginning to fall between the five escapees and the peloton

They still have that irritating hup, hup hup announcer guy in the background that was at the Pearl Izumi tour, seems to have gone for the moment thankfully.

He is much more irritating in real life

A couple of wannabe racers tried to jump on a local road race I marshalled at the other week, but got tailed off pretty quickly. Think they'd have a better chance of sticking with the peloton today!

He's probably not going to win though - which is kind of the point to the whole thing.

  • 22ks and 1.05. Delaplace valiantly battles against the motors from Sky and OPQS which are bringing this back for a shit sprint (how predicable).
