this thread has got a lot of replies as she's from a similar area to a few of us, look at the comments and you'll see there's nothing suggestive about them....0 -

Oooh dear. For the record, the replies were all about biking, and everyone answered my questions/helped me out. (err, minus a few.)
Plus, for all you know, I could be hideously ugly.

Where is good to surf in North Wales, I used to surf loads in south wales but would have thought any further North would have been a write off due to Ireland being in the way.0 -

I'll give you ugly, that's a given. Where did the whole "midget" thing come from though? I've never quite understood that.0

I thought all Welshmen were dwarf miners called Gimli, or something like that, who talk in runes.
And all women look like Cathgerine Zeta Jones.
Really.
Anyway it always seems to bug you, so that's good enough for me.I don't do smileys.

No, doesn't bug me at all, I find it quite amusing. I just didn't understand where it originated from, since I've not heard of that stereotype before.
And we're not all called Gimli, you spazwangle, we're called Jones or Williams.0 -
It's not a stereotype. just a mental picture.
For example most people visualise me as a combination of Robert Redford and Terminator. Which is quite accurate really.
I imagine you as something out of a Dalek.I don't do smileys.

See, the dwarf thing had me visualising something akin to this...
Whereas, since you're old, and posh (obviously since you're from daarn saarf in the land of Ings), cranky, and possibly insane, I visualised you as something like this...
Which is probably quite accurate, am I right?0 -
Not quite accurate, uncannily so. That is me except I'm not as cheerful looking as that.I don't do smileys.

I'm a Williams, wahayyy. And as a Welsh woman who grew up in Wales I can confirm I've seen no welsh men who resemble Gimli/dwarves/miners... Need I go on.
And for the welsh women bleaching their hair sheep joke, most welsh women have black hair, Celtic thing apparently... Never bleached my hair personally0 -
