For me it's a tricky call.
I've been accused of cheating on this thread in the past, but all I did was think "that looks like so&so" then put that in a google search and confirmed that it was what I thought. If we'd all have to have been to the places in the pics, the thread would get anywhere.
Similar is the "guess the object" thread. If you google search the actual photograph, even to come up with the "visually similar images" that it's capable of, then I'd call foul. But If you have an idea that the object is a flange extractor, and search for that, and find that it is, I wouldn't say that's cheating at all.
