Wiggo & Froome relationship..

The moment Chris Froome pulls his tongue out of Richie Portes ass is the moment Wiggo and Froome will kiss and make up.
Question is this: will Wiggo sign for another pro cycling team and if so, who should/would he sign for?
Poor guy, he's been completely forgotten about in the cycling world..

The moment Wiggins learns he won't be following Richie Porte's posterior next year is the moment he might have a future at SKY ...
His ego won't let him repay the favour to Froome and his attitude (sorry, his knee ... I forget, it was his knee) doesn't allow him to be at the sharp end of the races he's asked to ride (sorry, targeting) ...
If he puts all the nonsense to one side and rides he'll have a valuable contribution to make to the team (which isn't looking like any team Froome is on so he'll be carrying Porte's bags for a while) and will get a few of his own results along the way ...0 -

I certainly havent seen anything to support it0 -
I honestly dont think wiggins has the motivation to do another Grand tour. if you read his autobiography, its like I won the TDF and the Olympic gold medal, what a sacrifice I had to make to do it, its much more demanding than being a track cyclist. I'm dead chuffed I've won what I've won but I'm not going through all that again.
I think he will specialise in TTs like the worlds and Brazil olympics and have a crack at the spring classics and then retire. I also can't see him leaving sky, but never say never.Bianchi Infinito CV

Furthermore Wiggins will have taken one look at what Froome was put through by the media - which was 10 times worse than what he faced last year - and gone 'stuff that for a game of soldiers'0

Has Wiggins made any comment about Froome's victory? Congratulations, well-done, good job, etc?0

Froome Computer sez no0

I presume mr wiggins is on a fair old salary still and not doing an awful lot to earn it at the moment. Although sky have a pretty large budget I don't think even they can afford two prima donnas, as well as mr Porte and others who are coming through. My uninformed guess is that brad will move on to pastures new0

Wiggins is contracted through to end 14. He aint going anywhere else either before then, or after (in my view). He'll retire from the road, and just possibly go back to the track - or he might just put his feet up.
Wiggins is the only guy capable of beating Tony Martin in the Worlds - but he's going to have to be on top form. If he wins, hooray, season saved. As for next year, I think he's doing P-R. If Brailsford can truly get him and Froome together on the start line in Leeds, I'll take my hat off to him.
The irony is that despite a bad season to date, and despite Froome winning the Tour, British Joe Public generally seem to love Wiggins and find Froome boring - had a London cabbie hold forth on this very subject for 10 mins on my ride home last night.0 -

You know he might have congratulated him in private? Not everything these days needs to be done through Twitter or the media.More problems but still living....0 -

It all stems from the repressed British psyche, where they secretly want to fly in the face of convention and admire those who do, and hence transpose their desires onto the famous and successful. Which is why when someone is polite, straight-forward and normal, like Froome, they are 'boring' and when they are outspoken and different, like Wiggins, they are a 'character'.
As for me, I like Froome more than Wiggins. It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0 -

Well, I'm a Wiggins supporter - which believe me is an emotional rollar-coaster and a half - but, yeah, they aint taking to Froome so much.
Reason I mentioned it is that Wiggins is still the big draw in the team for the Brits.0 -

How does that work? Riding next to he cab for 10 mins in London?0 -
RR - probably because Froome is duller than dishwater. Literally.0

Together in Colorado next month by the looks of it.
I like them both, so it would be nice to see a hug and a few tears.0 -

Apparently not http://www1.skysports.com/cycling/news/ ... ey-wiggins
I rather like Wiggo but that strikes me as a bit rude tbh.0 -
Unless Wiggins schedule has changed. It was listed on his race plan after he withdrew from the Giro, and Froome, in one of the recent articles said he would be there.
Both riding for Dombro! Bet not many neo pros get two Tour winners riding for them.0 -

I thought it was tentative...oh well, it'd be awesome for Joe D if he does have them both AND Porte riding for him (think Boswell's riding too?). Smart from a Sky-US PR perspective too0 -

I have no problem with Chris or Brad. Wiggins is an extrovert, outspoken and dry of humor. Froome is just a nice quiet guy who happens to be a very gifted cyclist. I don't know why the public expect every sports star to be a "personality" as well. They are just two ordinary guys that can cycle better than most.
I would rather have a few drinks with Brad though, but, then again, Froome might be great company one on one. Who knows.0 -
Just been listening to the latest Rouleur 'cast....mention of Shane Sutton in hotel bar last Sat night after giving a talk in Abergavenny, being highly indiscreet (Shane? never!) and saying that Wiggins will never ride a 'big' race for Sky again...

I'm afraid that British Joe Public don't factor into Team Sky's future plans.Richmond Racer wrote:Just been listening to the latest Rouleur 'cast....mention of Shane Sutton in hotel bar last Sat night after giving a talk in Abergavenny, being highly indiscreet (Shane? never!) and saying that Wiggins will never ride a 'big' race for Sky again...
