There is a race on today.

120km to race and:

The last climb is very hard:
The 12.2 km towards the top have an average gradient of 6.3 % but the climb is actually a lot steeper. The average gradient goes down because of a flat part of 1.2 km halfway to the top. The climb starts out with 7 % and has a part of almost 4 km with 9.5 % before it evens out. The last 2.8 km have an average gradient of 7.5 %

Interesting to see Wilco in there - you'd think him a GC candidate, and only 53 sec. down on GC at the moment. Also still only 22 years old

80k to go and the break has a 3'10" lead over the peloton.

No sign of a live stream until later by the look of things.

    Shoot. Hope he's OK.

Drove past the crash and Hesjedal was on his back under a guard railing, crashed with some team mates. Hopefully he's not too bad #tdsuisse

    Just gone live.
Yes, Hesjedal confirmed out after a crash.
That has screwed up the attacking.

45ks, gone back up to 2mins as some of the break has decided to up the pace.
Hayden Roulston (RadioShack), Tom Boonen (Omega Pharma QuickStep), Niki Terpstra (Omega Pharma QuickStep), Johan Vansummeren (Garmin-Sharp), Philippe Gilbert (BMC), Wilco Kelderman (Blanco), Matti Breschel (Saxo Tinkoff), Michael Albasini (ORICA), Martin Elmiger (IAM Cycling)

Huge shame that Ryder had to crash out. You could tell he really wanted something from this race to make up for the Giro.

This is a pretty useless spoiler thread so far.

    -

The original 9 who had broken free got whittled down progressively until it was just four. Wilco was doing all the work on the front until Albasini accelerated and only Wilco could follow. It was short lived for Wilco and Albasini forged on.

No attacks from the peloton but a stedy uppping of the pace by several teams really put the hurt on for some.

    Andy Schleck back doors early.

TJ took it up and created a slow selection of about 15 riders. Pinot, Kangert and Scarponi all in there. Impressively, so is Sagan.

Meyer is distanced but fighting. No teammates.

Very misty and surface all wet. TJ and a team mate continue to strong it out on these wet roads.

Sagan doing an amazing job. If they dont shed him, the win is his. There is a tricky descent coming up which could take a few out being so wet.

One Garmin bobbing around like it could be Dan Martin.

TJ still setting the pace. Sagan 3rd wheel, easy.

Is TJ trying to ride them off his wheel or there is another plan?

Such narrow roads on this climb, it's like racing on mountainous bike paths.

after his exploits in the Giro?

If Sagan can stay in there, surely Visconti should be able to. Is Tangert in there?

Kreuziger attacks. Everyone is there more or less but all strung out. TJ went straight out the back when Kreuziger put the power down.

Sagan looking like he could attack them.
    20ks.

Not sure why these climbers waited for the descent...

    Sky climbers got no legs.
