That was panache. A well deserved win, he looked like he was going to actually die on the run up then exploded when he got to the finish, nice bit of descending too.

    Frenchie ...

'Roll'/ROLE ... sorry to be a pedant but you can't cite panache, true champion etc. and get basic English wrong ... you'll be there/their/they're-ing next ...

It always puzzles me why people feel the need to point out spelling and grammar errors when the meaning is clear. This is a pro racing forum and not a language one - otherwise I would be suggesting that there is more punctuation available than the ellipsis.

Nice to see Contador doing a good super domestique roll but what is the point if Roger's is not attacking Porte. However I suppose shedding Dennis and putting enough time in was worth it.
I think Contador helping Rogers wasn’t just to drop Dennis (and anyone else they could), but also to ensure Fuglsang didn’t get too far ahead.
At the start of today, Fuglsang was only 43 secs behind Rogers and at one point he and Sanchez were 30 secs up on the Contador group. Had their lead kept on increasing, it would have been Fuglsang, not Rodgers, looking at a podium place this evening.

Good point. I hadn't realised Fuglsang was so close. I also got the impression that Contador was doing it for the sheer devilment of it.

Ps. forgot to say thanks to you knedlicky for the first post.

Was perfect for me to catch up on the race in a short time rather than scrolling through the whole ticker. Need more posts like that in spoiler threads.

I'm glad you read my posts so closely Crankie.

You should also read BigBean's that way - he doesnt post that often but they are always worth reading.

"I’ve suffered a lot, especially in the last three kilometers", Sanchez said at the finish. "Fuglsang was very strong but I gave everything I had to beat him at the end. It’s going to be wonderful for Euskaltel to start the Tour de France with this prestigious victory. We had just won two races [stages at the Tour of Castilla and Leon with Pablo Urtasun and Juan José Lobato] this year but nothing in the World Tour. We didn’t get what we wanted from the Giro d’Italia, so it was good to keep going and come to here looking for something like this. Personally, I won’t race the Tour this year. I need to take a rest. It means a lot to me and the team to win at the Dauphiné. I dedicate it to my friend and team-mate Victor Cabedo who died a few months ago.”

Is Fuglsang ever going to follow up his "promise" with a big win?

Think he goes in the same category as EBH (and possibly JTL)

In the absence of a 'big' win, Fuglsang is working on his 'big' hair.
    Correlation is not causation.
