Pinotti, Viviani and Rabon (in break the other day) are non-starters, König and 2 others too – König, 9th in GC, is sick.

A big break (22 riders) formed after 18 km, as expected including Damuseau (polka dot jersey):
Paulinho (TST), Van den Broeck (LTB), Lutsenko, Seeldraeyers (AST), Santaromita (BMC), Didier, Gallopin (RLT), Meyer (OGE), Coppel (COF), Izaguirre (EUS), Bono (LAM), Rolland, Veilleux (EUC), Chavanel (OPQ), De Marchi (CAN), Madrazo, Teruel (MOV), De Gendt (VCD), Arndt, Damuseau (ARG), Gerard (BSE), De la Cruz (TNE).

At the foot of Alpe d’Huez the group had a lead of 3-45, making Seeldraeyers virtual yellow jersey (in the GC he is 3-30 back).
De Gendt first at the top of Alpe d’Huez, taking around 50 mins, Stannard (Sky) led the peloton at 3-40.

In the descent to the Sarenne, the break added 20 secs to their lead, then another 20 secs in the short climb to the top of the Sarenne.

A couple of riders have dropped out during the stage so far, one being Charteau, team mate from Voeckler and polka dot jersey winner at the 2010 TdF.

On the long descent from the Sarenne, the peloton have moved to 3-55 of the break.

They've now done 77 of 188 kms.

At the bottom of the Col d'Ornon, 1st cat, Madrazo (MOV), Veilleux (EUC), De Gendt (VCD) and Chavanel (OPQ) lost touch with the rest of the break.

Then halfway up Arndt (ARG) and Bono (LAM), reducing the break to 16 riders.
These went over the Ornon with a lead of 5-40.

Later Chavanel, Arndt and Veilleux were able to rejoin on the descent.

More riders have also given up, about half-a-dozen, Beppu being one.

The break is about 3-50 ahead with 53 kms remaining.

And the live stream started about 10 mins ago. :)

Agreed. I had to cut my ride short this morning. Of course I could have got up earlier, but it's the weekend :(

    That's something Froome is lacking.
If he had some then more people would take to him.

Maybe he was daydreaming about his cake. He's abandoned apparently.

What should Froome do without his power meter. Try take a look at him for just 10 seconds. Up, down, up, down, up, down.

Probably shouldn't but it annoys me more than ever.

Contador is such a Pro. Froome would never work for a lowly rider if he'd was having a cr*p ride

Such a hero, So much class, I want his babies
