Thanks for the info on JTL. Even without today he has been worse this year.

Did I imagine seeing a Sky jersey in that front group? Must have been Garmin :?

    No.
As I said elsewhere. I saw Henao throwing his bike at the line in that bunch finish.

No provisional on CQ yet, either, which may or may not mean something.

Seriously dude. I love your photos, information and passion for the sport, but the anti-sky gubbins is as tedious as the continual Contador steak "jokes".
He is not a team leader at Sky. At Endura he was. His race calendar is totally different. You know that. Your digs just give fuel to the "haters". Pack it in please (said pleadingly).
  • Weening still got sixth. I wonder, if he hadn't attacked so early....

Sagan totally no where. I find it funny that everyone hails him as the next biggest thing in cycling yet when it comes to the big classics it's like his legs decide to stay at home. Maybe Sagan will be known as the chipper king.

    Is this genuine?

For a guy who loves to do all his celebrating and wheelies etc he just never seems to go that last 5% at the big classics. Maybe he just hasn't got a celebration that's up to the big classic standard yet.

23 years old and hardly missed a podium this year. Tough crowd!

Maybe I am being a bit harsh but everyone bigs him up and he bigs himself up with all these celebrations. I wouldn't mind the celebrations if he was winning all the big races but he's not. He's won some chippers. Maybe it will come with time. I suppose it's a bit like with David Haye. Bigs himself up as the best boxer in the world yet gets battered by Klitschko, but then thinks he is a quality boxer again when he beats Chisora. Suppose I'm just being a bit harsh and if I was half the cyclist Sagan is then I'd be over the moon.

But that's where you have it all wrong. Peter is not doing his celebrations to mock anyone. He doing it for fun. To entertain the spectators that have been at the finish line for hours in ridiculous weather.

OPQS confirm that Kwiatowski was 5th and not Meersman.

I'll bite Rozzer. I can take your Sagan comments but David Haye the best Cruiserweight of his gen, lost to kilt in a fight where nothing happened.

I actually agree in that I think his reputation has got a bit ahead of his current ability. He's been there or thereabouts in every race he's ridden this year (apart from today) but he still hasn't actually won a 'big' race.

I think that will come with age though. He's been asked to ride a hell of a lot of miles this early in the season and considering he's still relatively new to road cycling I'd say there's some amount of burnout going on.

Interesting. Although maybe his attack allowed him to be half way up the Cauberg before the others stormed up. If he had started with them at the bottom maybe he wouldn't have placed.

Who knows but I had him as an avatar for at least a hope of an attack.

Duly changed to Coppi, who almost always won solo and from his own talent not someone's slipstream.

Photos of Gilbert lighting up the Cauberg with his WC kit and race face screwed on are going to be great.

As are those of Kreuziger whose specs are super.

Errr, and their World Tour points.

Quintana DNF, unless I missed him. Seems he's not quite Superman, after all.

241km Astarloza was in the break!!!!

Anyone know why JVS got the Most Aggressive award? Surely it should go to Astarloza. Seems like there is some racism at play or hate on people who have served a doping ban.

    BH06E3UCAAAfJPr.jpg:large

He even finished over nine minutes down when Astarloza finished in less than 2mins down.

Is there some amazing JVS racing that I missed?!

I enjoyed that. Bit of a surprise result but the last 30 - 40km was very entertaining. Kreuziger timed it well and benefited from the others looking around, together with a strong tail wind down the home straight. A shame J-Rod was out of it, though. A hard day in the saddle, I think.

A mate of mine has some video of the finish - I will post it when he's sent it to me.

    Any news on Rodriguez's injury?
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.
