What a difference a few days makes. Cancellara demonstrably not as strong as Sagan at MSR and less than a week later is riding away from Sagan, Chavanel, Thomas, Oss and Langeveld combined.

I kind of agree with both of you. The interesting bit immediately after the attack is interesting as the chasers either chase or look at each other but once the decision has been taken (and it appears to happen very quickly these days), and the impressiveness of the attack has sunk in then it's a bit dull.

Boonen's P-R last year was made better because at least Sky tried to chase so there was a bit of will he/won't he at least until the last 5 mins. When the chasers look like they re out on a recovery ride, to the point where Sagan is smiling at the Moto, then it's a bit dull unless you really really care who comes in second...

Ah you see, I did care. I didn't want Sagan to win, but I picked him for PTP* so I wanted the points.

    * Chinny owes me, I like to think I jinxed Sagan.

Amazing ride by Cancellara. I'm glad the Spartacus is back. Can't wait for Flanders/Roubaix.

Great rides by Sagan and Chavanel. You could see they were trying hard to pull him back and didn't sit up at all. Nice job by Cannondale helping Sagan get back on the main group too.

Disappointed with Boonen and Quickstep tactics, as they seemed to have it under control at one point. Gilbert also seemed a bit off.

they have managed to miniaturise the motor

very strong, as he crossed the line it looked as though he had just cycled to the shops to get the paper

Not sure showing you are back to top form just before your A races is that clever - just when Sagan was taking on the mantle of the man everyone marks Cancellera snatches it back. Have to see if he can repeat the performance in a monument now.

it's a hard life if you don't weaken.

OPQS get the early season dumbest tactic award.
    Wtf were they thinking?

    Wtf were they thinking?

It was very strange. They kind of got halfway back to Boonen, and then started riding again. You'd think 3 in the top group of 8 or 9 would be a decent place to be.
  • I wonder how much fresher Chinny is when riding the domain. Opposed to Sagan on the cannondale over cobbles?

Was thinking that myself but then he's a True Champ and only races to win.

Lefevere won't be at all happy. I can imagine strong words were had in the team bus afterwards. Maybe Cav can uphold their honour on Sunday...

Who is this fella Boysen Hogan yes as said as HULK HOGAN ???? wtf is it with this commentator robbie hatch. does he have to try and say all their names as if he's a local of that country. He makes carlton kirby sound half decent if there is such a thing.

Sagan was on one of the new prototype cannondales.. so probably not much difference assuming the new Cannondale is 1/2 decent.

Think the Limonade marketing team would be very happy with you, but in reality? Don't think it made any difference, it was "just" a classic Canc Attack, this time it worked

He just rides in the middle of the cobbles hammering the power down were everyone else is looking for the gutter or a less ruff surface.

I think the bike is superior on the cobbles and the fact Fab helped developed it means he has complete confidence in it.
He attacked were he had an advantage 'were no one could follow' then tt'd to the end. If he attacked on on the tarmac he would not have got the gap to break free.

So it looks like the seatpost can pivot in a similar way to the Trek -> although just the seatpost, not the whole seat-tube.

The curved seat-stays and odd BB area must also improve comfort and it looks like a pretty radical design to me.
  • Wow that is quite an unusual BB junction.
