PTP chat has reminded me that the race is on next w/e. Whilst having a browse, I came across this rather excellent web page showing the location of all the climbs and cobbles.

http://ohn.pro.p.assets.flandersclassics.be/files/1205/original/omloop2013-elite-men-map-profile.pdf?1360317168

What I haven't come across as yet is a participants list, just press reports that Boonen is in, but Gilbert is out. Details would be appreciated if anyone has a link. All the best, Ron.

  • Staf Schierlinckx is still riding?!?

Hushovd looking good for that one after his performance on Saturday. Expect Boom to be in the mix again, Blanco have had a pretty good start to the season

I bloody love this race. Nothing says the start of the proper season more for me than watching this on a dodgy stream.

Bookies seem to have Boonen top still. Seems ambitious.

Tough to look away from Gilbert.

Moved house. Internet provder is being slow to change. I unleashed on their customer services people on Saturday. No change.
  • Het Volk is the start of the season for me.

And a chance for me to practice my developing dutch on Sporza (I did a little jig when I got a whole sentence from the Hoogstrat cross coverage)

Love this race, I look forward to the classics more than I look forward to Christmas.

As normal, the field looks wide open. You can predict a lot of things about this race...Boonen will have a dig somewhere, Flecha will be on the podium, somebody slightly surprising will win.

  • Not live on Rai Sport 2, this year, either. :(

Been a really sh*t start to the cycling viewing season this year.
Races in Italy cancelled. Qatar via Al J, no live Portugal and now
    this.
Looks like it's March and a month late before things get under way.

  • I think Boom will be up there. As long as there's no repeat of this (10 secs in)

I'm embarrassed to admit that I said "somewhere" as I couldn't for the life of me remember the name of the climb.

    I'll get my coat.
