To be fair, I could imagine it to be similar to walking up to a wall and then banging your head against it.
Even slightly above this post you can see the mentality. People too quick to post a comment aimed at trying to discredit the OP.
When you look at some of the behaviour it's actually quite disgusting and would rarely be excepted in normal "non Internet" life.

    Pot calls kettle black?
Can you say in the 400+ posts that you have posted in the last month that you have not made an ill conceived comment. For someone porporting to dislike this forum, 400+ posts in a month is a lot. In the time I have posted I have seen a lot of people who are grateful for the advice given and haven't attracted the attention that you say you have attracted - maybe you should ask yourself why. With regards to posters such as SUL who is perfectly harmless they are easy to ignore. At the end of the day you are being made upset by an internet forum - be thankful you are not in the middle of Somalia!

Sungod, I simply made a mistake, when I realised I accepted and retracted, that was not a backtrack from a lie but a mistake.

letap73, I have stated that the post was to get attention and that my true feelings are not that this is the worst forum but one where an odd few are here with the intention of causing trouble.

I stand by my comment because it is true, I stay here as I like it.

Sungod thinks im a bullshitter because I made a mistake and now thinks that everything I say is a lie. I have no animosity to him as it doesnt enter my radar in that way, I simply dont agree thats all. In my workplace I am known for being straight down the line, I say it like it is, I also make mistakes, as I am HUMAN !
I do not however go out of my way to abuse people, I do not poke fun outside of the normal "having a laugh" as is the norm in humanity but the same can not be said for all of the people here.

I think ive been quite clear ?

Bompers you have hit the nail on the head my friend - that is precisely what happens in far too many posts on here nowadays (sorry don't have exact research figures :D )

A very succinct summation - well played.

VTech - have no worries, people get where you're coming from - some posters have a bad day and use any post to vent their spleen. You don't have to apologise for anything, they're your opinions, your views, be happy with them - if you want to make a point about security and make a comment about nitrogen, do so, you can't be responsible for how people take your comments - but don't apologise - life is more fun when we all sing a different tune.
This thread would be better if there was less of it because everyone was out riding their bikes.

The world would be better too - and the suns out too, yay. :o

personally, bad science bugs me, it needs challenging, otherwise it becomes another internet 'fact'

i'm not saying everything you say is a lie, but with some of the things you post you may understand that it hasn't always presented you in the way i think you really would wish

i'm sure it's hard to believe but i make plenty of mistakes too, so i'm not trying to pick on you, but can i suggest relax and be a smidge less ready to take offence

I think ive only made one mistake ;)

On a serious note though, ive not taken a personal offence, even if the post gave that impression. Im a happy go lucky kind of guy but the wife does liken me to Victor Meldrew at times although I dont necessarily agree with her either :)
I take work too seriously and as a result it sometimes pours into personal life but I guess thats the case for many folk. At work the guys are far more serious and anal about every last single issue but over the years ive become accustomed to ignoring it and now its just like being on a plane with kids crying, it annoys the hell out of a lot of people but as I have raised 3 kids I dont actually hear it

I was actually correct on all counts, my responses were perceived as wrong.
I stated India's economy was one of the greatest and increasing over that of China so the people here (I can see it now) quickly googled and found that China has a value of value much higher than that if India) but this isnt the full story.
If we really look at global growth on a scale we would see that in fact Mongolia tops the tree very nicelt but we wouldnt jump to suggest Mongolia as the best economy !
India however has stat realistic growth at 6% whereas just like Apple who have a worldwide great net value, China is simply unsustainable, hence my comment.
I also suggested Brazil which was shot down due to the huge poor population but again, this wasnt my point, Brazil has natural stocks of elements which have given simply massive growth. The fact that they have a huge population of poor is down to government and corruption but it certainly doesnt mean that I was in fact wrong does it ?

It's almost like you are obsessively refreshing the page waiting for people to reply to you.

Seriously, was it really jealousy that made you leave the last forum you were a member of or something else?

P.S, All those PM's you keep sending me, I haven't read them.

I love it, come on guys, seriously, you really must do better.

shutuplegs, I sent a pm a while back suggesting we got off on the wrong foot and offered my hand to put this aside yet ive no doubt you posted above to make it look like I was sending abuse (naughty boy).

The others I think are probably the kind of guys who hang around with bullies as they have a warped sense of power or simply dont want to be left out :)

The fact that more people have agreed with me here suggest I am indeed correct in my opinion of certain people here going out of their way to be rude. I am just glad that this is not in my DNA.

Now google how to make someone appear to be Beelzebub without backing it up with evidence, your starting to look like children in a playground.

To the OP, have you actually ridden your bike yet on the road?

The weather tomorrow looks fairy good, why don't you set Strava up on your iPhone 5 or Ipad and attempt a couple of your local hills. Upload the data to here and then you can join in and have a sensible discussion about riding a bike. Or cycling as we call it.

I have picked out these 2 that are local to you and look a decent challenge.

Yes, ive ridden the bike but only once, I have strava and have uploaded a few runs ive done and I can also see that you have picked rides that would test a decent rider yet alone a new one like me but putting that aside for a moment, even though you have tried hard to set me a task that you know I would struggle on, its still better than the abuse you usually throw around so when I have the time ill try and do them both.

EQ is a slightly naff term for the level of one's emotional intelligence. Fundamentally lacking in most internet discussion, where being right about something is always far more important than how we relate to our fellow human beings.
