That sucks. Wonder what the problem is.
No Qatar, and no Oman again.0 -
Splash all that money to get the race in Qatar and then don't bother televising it. :roll:0

I suspect it is being televised, just ES don't want to buy the rights.0 -

Was scheduled to be - but just been tweeted that due to contract cock-up they can no longer show the race.0 -
Al Jazeera it is then.0

So who's going to volunteer to do English comms over the Al Jazeera feed?0

Can i get that on freeview/Virgin (minimal package)?0 -
There is nothing wrong with Algeria.
Oman is the one to watch. Contador is racing and it has a decent few climbs.
I'm surprised Iain started a thread about a race.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Don't think so. Al Jazeera had the women's race free to view online though.
Qatar was a surprise package last year - Wind, echelons, Cancellara and Boonen smashing it.0 -

Well, he sort of did....“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -

It's like that every year, but most people miss this because they can't see beyond the lack of scenery. These same people then wet their pants about racing in Flanders.0 -
If no one else caps this then I will grab it off Jazeera +10 and then lash it on CT.NL when I get back from training..0
-
It will be live to the world on their website.
Oman is a boring race, with one climb. Qatar can be chaos.0 -
My favoutite time of the year here, a chance to mix with the riders. There are so few watching that most of the pros are quite happy to chat. Last year a stage started in dukhan and i helped organise a few classes of kids from the school I teach in to go wave some flags. mainly GB flags , the Sky Team riders were brilliiant, every one came over to sign autographs.
My fav pic is this one, the kids were geting a bit restless prior to the riders coming over. All the riders were signing on for the race at a table. To keep the kids entertained I decided to try to sign up for the race on a mountain bike. I love the look on the UCI blokes faces

I don't know much at all about women's cycling, but I'm always being told they don't have the power, there are no breakaways, etc. Crap!

BTW, if you didn't catch any of St 1 of the Ladies' ToQ today, it was brilliant. Attacks, echelons, splits, breakaways, great finish.

As I understand it, that decision was taken today. I wonder if ITV would like it? With Cav, Cancellara, and all?

I understand Eurosport have pulled the Tour of Qatar, under pressure from ASO, aggrieved because they no longer produce the TV coverage.“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -
I'm probably in a minority of one, but I also like the Tour of Qatar for the scenery. :? Perhaps it's the incongruity of a peloton of cyclists in a desert, the expanse of sand, it being so different from the usual cycling backdrop...?
God I'm coming over all 'Lawrence of Arabia', but I like the desert.Correlation is not causation.0 -
