For gods sake Rick we were just having a laugh.

A thread that insulted or offended no-one, did not bully or harass, did not make any sexual, gender or race implications gets locked because you have set a bunch of rules which you are going to stick to rigidly and regardless of actual content.

Maybe if you hadn't over modded in the last 6 months, maybe this forum would not have slumped into the mediocre.
Maybe some established forumites would not have left, you can't help yourself can you ? Does it justify your position/role ?

I regularly break rule 2.

Not because I'm a rebel but because I'm an absolute computing "numpty" so I just press the quote icon. This frustrates me but I'm not to bothered.

With regard the locked thread, yes, it was a totally pointless load of tosh; then again so are a lot of others it's just that one took "pointless tosh" to a higher level.

If you have a problem with moderation, it's best you start a thread in the `discuss the website' section explaining specifically what the problem is.

That way it will be read by the relevant people.

There was no racism from what I can see, this level of moderation is to blame for the forum in general having gone very quiet and becoming really quite boring of late.



I remember when it used to be a laugh to check in here and see what the "characters" of the forum had been upto during the day.

People started having a laugh, Kim Jong Richard didn't approve/like it so started closing everything down referring to rules that weren't designed to be effected in the case sthat he closed down.

People very rightly got miffed at the pointless BB being over sanctified, although I thought the whole point of teh BB was that there was very limited moderation (ie next to none?).

Sort of something like that.

Beyond the scope of simple Yossie, but then I'm not clever enough like to be a moderator like.

Anyone, who ever said that BB was pointless? Errrrr, all of us, right from the very begining. A last minute win for the communters?

As an aside, as WillSteveCallCentre been told off about his Holocaust jibes? Errr, no, didn't think so..............

I think Maxwell's comments about racism refer to Pinarello's comments on at least two threads (one in here and one in Road General) with his reference to 'Chinks' which he appears to have been banned for (then tried to come back as Fustercluck and got banned again. Different topic to Yossie's issue but 'Fustercluck' posted directly before Maxwell's response.

Unfortunately I don't think he's clever enough to understand what he's done/written otherwise a) he wouldn't have done it in the first place and b) he would have changed it last night when I mentioned it.

I actually don't even think that he knows what he's on about using Auschwitz in this example, which is quite shocking (and ignorant).

I saw the comment about the Chinese and would say the mods did the right thing - it could easily be seen as inciting racial hatred, which is a criminal offence. Without taking steps to remove it the forum owner is liable to arrest and prosecution as well as the publisher.
