    How far?

Our club training rides aim to keep around a 25mph average on flat terrain and they cover circa 60 miles.

Like Mikey said the flat roads here in Cornwall are all about 1:10, although there is a flatter bit on the new A30.

    Cannondale Synapse Sram Red ETap

18milesperhour.tumblr.com - copy/paste into your search bar - no http//etc etc for some inexplicable reason.

Click on 'Universal truths of cycling'

    - maybe then speed won't be such an obsession.

It really doesn't matter. You only have to stop once and that can knock 5mph off the average.

Nothing there to click on - just pages of blogs in an over-minimalist style!

Title says avg speed but then asks for cruising speed. So not sure what you wants If you are cruising at 22mph then obviously your avg speed will be lower ?

I don't set out to complete a certain ride at 18mph or 21mph or whatever, and I certainly don't stare at the average speed measurement on my computer as I am going. I don't claim that 'my average speed is...'.

If the op cares to check back through the numerous average speed threads on this forum over the last few months, he will probably see why some of the responses appear jaundiced and sarcastic!

You have too much time on your hands! ;)

But the OP doesn't seem to be interested in actual average speed, so I gave the number I hope to see (i.e. 'actual' speed, not 'average') when I look down as I cycle along on a flat road.

Normally around 32MPH on the flat for 100 miles.
