    Sod Sky.

If Sky swapped out one of the Johnny Foreigners for a Brit, would you like them then? And if so, which Johnny Foreigner should go and who should come in?
Porte. Because aren't Orica supposed to pick Aussies, not Brits.

Does it? I think Iain, Rich and I were being ironic/sarcastic rather than xenophobic.

My question was semi-serious and no one seems to have answered. Who would y'all remove from Sky squad and who would you replace them with?

Trouble at the mill (or at least team Giant Shimano)

    http://www.cyclismactu.net/news-tdf-kit ... 41911.html

Seems like Kittel wanted to be consulted regarding who was in the team (and wasn't)

Is there any previous between him and Degenkolb ?

Edit: Actually reading it again (my french isn't perfect) maybe they're both upset with being excluded from team selection rather than with each other

Assuming cyslingquotes are right, it's the latter. Annoyed at inclusion of Cheng JI rather than Frohlinger.

Both Kittel and Degenkolb would have liked Fröhlinger in the team, as he plays a major part of their sprint lead-out train, but instead the Chinese Cheng Li has been included, probably as concession to sponsor Giant, which has its hq in Taiwan and also wants interest in the Tour in the Asian market, and thus would like to see an Asian participant.

Degenkolb was the more critical of the two about not being consulted about the selection, Kittel more or less just said he wasn't consulted and he understands teams sometimes have other priorities.

To smooth things over, Kittel has said Cheng Li is a good domestique and particularly useful in closing down gaps. Degenkolb said the selection wasn't optimal, but not bad either, however Degenkolb has complained before about team selection when the team has included Cheng Li, as if he doesn't have a great regard for the Chinese rider.

Does it bollocks. It sounds more and more limp-wristed, politically correct, left wing tree-huggerish.

Perhaps he doesn't. Perhaps he thinks he sucks balls. I'd admire him more if he just came out and said it though.

Throwing around random insults is obviously more fun... where the hell did "tree huggerish" come from???

Why isn't Dan Martin in the Garmin team?

Because he has not recovered from his collarbone injury and is focusing on the Vuelta and Worlds. Will ride in Poland. He couldnt do TdS because of it so feels unprepared.

Ta. Thought he would have been getting back by now.

Must admit that two big Germans making noise against a Chinese lad doesnt sounds good. However I suppose it is a sponsor play and id be upset if I were them if they genuinely think their lead out train. I would also be upset they are both included...when does big John D get to ride for the sprint - only when Kittel gets dropped.

Big John D will be contesting the following stages I would imagine.
    Stage 1 possibly
    Stage 2
    Stage 7
    Stage 11
    Stage 12

A silly question - indulge me please...

While in the UK, will the caravan that precedes the riders be the same as the French caravan? Or will it consist of British branded floats?

In 2007, it was the same as one they had in France, just a bit smaller.

I am assuming it's the French one, and the half car/half salami type things all came over on the ferry at some point to fling out the Credit Lyonnais caps etc.

A couple of years ago in Barcelona too, all French brands (well, some international, like Haribo or Skoda) and French boys and girls manning the floats.

The official Tour de France memorabilia stalls that have opened up in Leeds this week are manned by French staff (English speaking) too, priced in euros.
