Idiots are still trampling fences and riding on unsurfaced muddy trails
Some idiot even posted a Youtube video riding closed trails but took it down after some hefty abuse.
ps the rigid single speed 29er is NOT mine.I don't do smileys.

Are these t**ts affecting the works schedule / do they still think they'll have the trails ready for April??0
-
Yeah, they are closed for a reason, but hopefully not. Still expected to be April.I don't do smileys.

Whilst not excusing those who have ridden on the closed trails, what do you expect?? Whenever Gorrick/BOB were building trails people tried to ride down them when they were closed off and Mr Sorrell (current trail builder) was warned about this. Instead of closing one trail at a time and working on it, he decided (against local advice) to close lots of trails all at once. Now people act surprised that 'idiots' are riding the closed trails, probably the same 'idiots' who always used to ride the closed trails. C'est la vie........................~~~~~~Sustrans - Join the Movement~~~~~~0

Except they are not just surfacing the existing trails, they are building a whole series of new loops, incorporating some of the existing trails.
Do try to keep up, or people might think you are what you call an 'idiot' and what the rest of us call an idiot.I don't do smileys.

Yeah, saw that - hopefully it's right. The building is coming along well, but would be nice if we get some dry weather so the surface can harden a bit before we do our best to destroy it.I don't do smileys.

We should put signs up before every potential braking point which says a locked rear wheel incurs a £5 fine as well.My biggest fear is that should I crash, burn and die, my Wife would sell my stuff based upon what I told her I paid for it.0 -

You bring out the best in the me..........
But on a genuine optimistic note, have you had a careful look at the proposed new route map? Have you seen those straight bits of trail? Maybe, in a few years time the Crown Estate could be persuaded to let the straight bits go squiggly, i.e. more new singletrack being built in Swinley as part of the existing loops~~~~~~Sustrans - Join the Movement~~~~~~0 -
Those straight bits are fire roads. I'm sure we can find some sneaky alternative routes.I don't do smileys.

A lot riding closed trails yesterday in the nice weather. Chatted to a few and the majority were from out of area, were unsure what was closed due to fences being down, so rode them anyway as they saw others doing the same.
Has dried up quite well in 2 weeks considering the weather.
Do the guys from BOB still ride?Bird Aeris : Trek Remedy 9.9 29er : Trek Procaliber 9.8 SL0 -

Same old excuses eh? 'We'll the fence is on the ground and that sign saying the trail is closed is partially obscured by tyre marks, so it must be open. I am guessing that these people are the same kind of people that would join in looting with the excuse that everyone else was doing it so I thought that burglary and criminal damage must somehow have just become legal through the repealing of age old laws... or something like that.A Flock of Birds

I believe the straight bits are there because of future logging plans that will fark them very soon. Once the loggers have logged off, wiggly bit building can commence.A Flock of Birds
