The bloke is as funny as piles and just as annoying.

    this exactly.

it would have been brilliant if Pru would have have stabbed him repeatedly in the face and neck whilst whispering in his ear that he was an unfunny annoying phuktard.

I often read things that I don't understand here on BR (mostly a lot of the entrenched views from all sides of the Brexit or 'Wife of Isis' [mass] debates) but I'll add this one to the list. I wouldn't use those Apple bluetooth things as I suspect that they are like all the other Apple ear phones that I have tried in giving give out a p1ss poor sound but what I don't understand is why on earth you would think of them as a status symbol.

I don't think of them as a status symbol (I think the whole concept of the status symbol is lamentably ironic), but some people clearly do. Clearly.

Turns out bored MPs play stupid games to pass the time.

    https://www.ft.com/content/a46f0932-3f9 ... ab61506f44

The Prime Minister's PPS bet another MP tea at the Ritz that she could get her boss to say "Simples", meerkat-style, during PMQ. And won.

    Explains a lot.

Very serious paper, the FT. :)

Ha ha - i'm from the South... of the equator.

You are right though. There was this Ugandan who visited Britain (BBC Radio 4) as a tourist. He hired a car and went travelling. On the North Circular, he noticed the sign 'North M25'. Then he got to Watford, again a sign that said 'North' and then Birmingham and then Manchester... and so it went on.
So he sat down and looked at a map of the UK and measured it to find exactly where this 'North' started.
He discovered that the mid point was Cairnryan (7 miles North of where I am now).

When the station cat, normally aloof and doing its own thing, decides to come and make friends.

This is an unmanned village station, the cat has adopted the role of stationmaster.

    Maybe not so trivial, but...
Nissan (I work in the casting plant at the Sunderland site) announced yesterday, that they want to cut 250 jobs, because the Infiniti production is moving to somewhere else
Negotiations are in place for a leaving package for those who want to leave, this will be offered plant wide so the Infiniti workers can be redistributed elsewhere in the plant. They're hoping to do this through "natural wastage"

So, what cheered me up....... I can take my pension in September and hopefully this deal as well. Last years deal was a £30k tax free lump, and several colleagues did just that.

Expect a post in "What Annoyed Me" if I don't get accepted

TV programs like most haunted or my house is haunted.
Although I’m a total wimp whe it comes to watching horror movies and the like and if I was in some old house at night with creaky noises I would probably fill my pants.
It’s the way they say this is “ really dangerous “
I may have missed something but I can’t recall when the last time someone was killed by a ghost.

Pretty rare for ghosts to appear to more than one person, nevermind anywhere where their presence can be verified.
And why do ghosts appear fully clothed? Are they modest? Quite happy to appear with no head it seems but not with no pants.
