Getting an email on Thursday morning (after filing online application on Sunday) from HM Passport Office that brand new shiny burgundy coloured passport is on it's way.

By writing off 8 or so months left on the old one and renewing now will facilitate a short notice escape to Europe in the summer should our politico a-hole 'masters' force us into having to have more than 6 months left before passport expires. #PREP4BREXSH!T

As far as grab adhesives go, No nails ain't bad but it has been superseded by Gorilla grip and for general use - plasterboard, light stuff etc, the Unibond grab adhesive is available at Travis Perkins for around £3.60 including VAT if you buy a 6 pack and is very good. Just needs a little longer to set. Good for very absorbent surfaces as it isn't quite so viscous as No Nails can be.

I'm thinking of getting you round to do my DIY as I am fed up of doing it!!!

I am good at starting projects and equally good at getting fed up halfway through them.

Walking from the station this morning on beautiful, crisp winter's day and being treated to this spectacular sunrise over Bristol's floating harbour.

*sigh* Brings back memories of living on York Road and walking to work past St Mary Redcliffe and up Welsh Back. The Shot Tower is one of my favourite buildings. That is a great photo.

The tower has recently been refurbished, don't know if you've seen it since. I'd love to work there, it looks to be inhabited by trendy media / design type companies though.

I like cocoa too, so do the kids. For one mug - 2 to 3 teaspoons of cocoa and a teaspoon of sugar mixed to a paste with a little cold milk, add very hot milk gradually, stirring all the time. Mmmm. Cocoa.

I'm trying 16:8 fasting and when 11.00am arrives and I can finally eat breakfast I'm ridiculously cheerful. I don't know how so many people don't bother with breakfast at all, I'd be unbearable.

I would be quite happy to miss breakfast completely and just drink coffee. Except that is not conducive to pedalling and energy levels. Bollox to fasting rides.
On the other hand, dream time is a bit of left over apple pie or similar and some cold custard. If that was on offer every morning... i'd be happy but as fat as Hoppy.

I must say that, when I tried the 5:2 diet, I spent both the eating days dreading the prospect of all the fasting ones

buying two 7 speed freewheels for £8 the pair because they looked cool and are boxed and finding out they actually sell for £200 the pair.

To flip straightaway or to leave for a bit?

I weighed & measured myself the other morning. 84kg. 185 cm. 83 cm round the waist. Big for a "cyclist" I suppose, but I do eat a lot. :D

Reading in the local press that some bright spark tried to drive down Rosedale Chimney last night when it was -7. Clearly the 4 ft square sign saying don’t drive down in winter isn’t big enough.
