Learning a new tune suitable for the weather. You can laugh at the somewhat compromised quality of the player, but breath control is quite tricky on the turbo....

You couldn't do that with a piano, a three button instrument, piece of p1ss.

Always a hazard of playing at a garden party...

I might be better off with pot stuck in the end today.

Just found this (rather better) version - I was never really a Tony Bennett fan, but this this is quite nice

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FM7rODJCswA

And not a Streisand fan either, but not bad either:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2X7B7adPrR0

Strikes me a bit odd that there's not more modern versions with some sultry female vocalists, and making it move along a bit more. It's a nice tune, but the two above make it rather morbid.
  • The Pretenders playing a 5 minute walk away from my place next month, just have to get the tickets tomorrow.

    How did you find it?

She's still got it, and a 95 minute show down the road is quite something.

To be honest, I don't think I'm enough of a Pretenders fan to have got the most from it.

Had an external tap installed so I now have a hose for the first time.

Absolute game changer for bike cleaning.

Cover it up during winter to stop it freezing up.

Anyway, that's what my Dad would say.

Got caught napping and failed to get a ticket 🙄 missed it by minutes. I went into the shop as they used to hold a few back for people going into the store. Seems they don't do that now, or they never did and I imagined it.
Bought the wife an early Christmas present and we're going to see Rick Astley on 1st December, hopefully it will be a bit of fun.

An instal in these times should include an internal stop valve, to prevent such freeze + damage.

My inherited o/s tap does not, yet until that end gets refurbed, so is made well cosy over winter.

My simple solution is not to use the outside tap when the temperature is sub zero. 😉
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Ah, shame. I'm sure Rick Astley will be fun.

OMD tonight. I genuinely don't understand how Banquet do it.

Agreed on both counts. I think Rick Astley is doing his first date tomorrow and December got added due to high demand. To think he got famous again through a wind up.

Correct. Just under the kitchen sink, very easy.

Another autumn when I'm going to make it to 1 November without any heating in my draughty mud hut, though it's not been at all uncomfortable this year, as it's unseasonably mild still - I was in shorts for the morning lardy cake ride.

Ditto. The tide was in and the legs were out, though still waiting for the main bulk of autumnal colour in the trees.

    In that case...

In the absence of mountains, the sea isn't a bad option for a ride midpoint (complete with coffee and cake).

My legs were definitely covered. Brrrr. Correct layers meant a pleasant cycle though.

Was low teens here, and since my jaunt wasn't nearly as long as yours, a bit of leg aeration was very pleasant. Any ride like that at the moment is a bonus.
