I'm cheered by the fact you're so easily pleased Brian
I was pleased by a tweet, then realised I'd fallen victim to fake news.
It was a dog having a shît in a hurricane, in case you were wondering.1 -

Isabel Oakeshott claiming that she'd not been outsmarted by Heseltine. The replies, weirdly, don't seem to agree...

A certain 'paper of record' making such a basic blunder. If I actually paid to read the rag, I'd be asking for my money back.

Reading a health strategy where someone had spelled "Deprivation" as "Depravation".
ICYWW, absolutely not the same thing.
It's just a hill. Get over it.1 -

Waddya mean, you need to know the meaning of words as well as using spellcheckers?

Getting a £200 "alternative fuel payment" applied to the energy account, even though I'm pretty sure we don't qualify for it according to the rules I've found.0

My assumption is that they're thinking if you're not connected to the mains gas grid you must be using alternative fuels. Even if you don't.pinno said:

Already knew we're not as the mains grid more or less finishes at Penzance, still interested to see there's actually quite a bit of Central London that also isn't on the grid. Did surprise me.pinno said:

I'm must outside Sevenoaks and I'm 'off grid'. So it's rural-ish areas generally and not must those at the arris end of the country. Better check my electricity supplier has credited me my £200 this month.JimD666 said:

When it gets warm enough that I don't have to microwave butter to spread it on bread without the bread breaking up. Butter doesn't understand about putting on an extra jumper to stay warm.0

Bloody Bolton.
It’s like lilliput. I worked there briefly many years ago and was amazed how small everyone was.
Saw a concert at the Toughsheet a few years back and can confirm it was built to lilliput specifications. I was crammed into the seat to the point where I was seriously comfortable by the end. I’m not exactly super tall either.
If I complained now…0 -
