"Going"? It ended up in the ditch at the bottom of the slope some time ago.

Ironically (given the family tracking discussion), watching the live Garmin GPS trace of a friend completing a 200km audax today, despite the cràp weather. My other friend who started with him baled out at 140km. Considering the finisher had covid over Christmas (his 3rd or 4th bout of it), and his longest ride since was about 20 miles, it's an impressive effort.

A good black pudding and plum tomatoes makes my year.
The Ulster fry is by far the best breakfast in the UK. White pudding is the food of Gods.

If I recounted what he's been through in the last 15 years, and especially the last three, you'd realise just how determined and stubborn he is. He's not exactly your stereotypical cyclist build, but boy, he can keep churning out the miles when lesser mortals give up.

I'll ask him tomorrow how fvcked he is. But he does deserve the day off, I'll admit.

Receiving an email asking if I am interested in a new role. Prospective new employment is not the reason for cheer. The recruiter's name, Megan Müff. Made me smile.

Watching the British Cyclocross champs and watching a toddler trying to climb the hill and failing. Mum had to pull them up with both arms through the mud.

There's no Tate thread, so apologies to those who need thread order, but he was discussed upthread.

In this article there is a video of two women being interviewed. They say they are not victims. One has "Property of Tate" tattooed on her, the other has "Tate Girl".

Seeing all the cars he was boasting about getting carted away on the back of trucks by the Romanian police cheers me up especially as that boasting seemed to speed up his downfall.

This is where it’s really difficult to understand or discuss as a male without being told to butt out.

Same as the oppressive clothing restrictions imposed on women in many states.

Some women claim they choose to wear it.

I.e. they choose to wear something that is very much dictated by men.

I see these women being property of a self confessed misogynist as the same and simply don’t understand the mindset.

I would guess that Tate has convinced them that they're much better off in his care and inner circle than out in the real world of low paid miserable jobs.

The most effective strategy in trafficking/grooming is to convince those being trafficked/groomed that they are doing it out of choice.

  • Got through to HMRC on the phone today. I was on hold for 50 minutes. No reference to unexpected call volumes, which was a relief as I was the muppet phoning 15 days before the submission deadline (even though my query wasn't related to this). Service once I got through was first class, including a call back to relay some info that needed looking up.

Also got through to TSB on the phone. No time spent on hold, the price for which was utterly hopeless call handlers.

Everyone I spoke to was very pleasant.

They have been surprisingly helpful when I have spoken to them in the past including starting the process for me to reclaim £15 of interest which the computer said I owed.

The sun is getting stronger 😎 Moved the Škoda from the shaded side of house, so covered in ice and frost as been minus 7-8 past couple of nights, into the sunshine. And immediately seeing the frost melt away, water dripping off within seconds.

    Bring on the springtime.

Robins. Working away today clearing paths of leaf debris, Mr Robin was always right there, right in close. Indeed more than 1 Mr Robin, think max at one time was 5. With lots of birdie scuffles going on. 😊
