My other half asked me if I had a £10 note last night I said there’s one in my wallet but it’s all the cash I have in it.
I open my wallet this morning and there 80 quid in it.
Mind she won’t let me buy a new coat to add to 8 or 9 I already have.

In a similar vein, having (an admittedly cheap) GPS bike computer whose app syncs the time on the GPS with the phone, so I don't have to remember how to do it on the unit (as I had to do on the previous one).

Actually, the Xoss GPS has impressed me so far - long battery life (much much better than the Garmin 200 thingy I've got, and a third of the price), and the app syncs with Strava reliably.

A pub that I know getting lots of free publicity for offering "ploughpersons' lunches".

    https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/mar/28/devon-pub-reaps-twitter-storm-after-adding-ploughpersons-to-menu

If people really are getting upset about this (the 'dish' was a marketing creation from the Cheese Bureau in 1953), the joke really is on them, poor flowers.

After an image of the menu went viral, critics accused the pub of “wokeness”. “Won’t be visiting this woke establishment,” said one. “Most people are sick to death of this ridiculous woke cancel culture, please don’t make the excuse this was a bit of fun clearly it wasn’t.”

    Oh yes it was. 🤣

I left my bike compooter in BST and rode all the time through winter often forgetting that I wasn't running late.

Surely for it to be cancel culture they would have had to take it off the menu because of its name? Sounds like the pub will be a better place for being boycotted by these people (except they almost certainly either never went in there anyway or, if they did, will continue to do so).

I saw that, quite amusing. I suppose all publicity is good publicity, as this pub found out after a taking pic promotimg ale drinking which had a rather unfortunate camera angle:
