There is a single starling sitting up on the aerial on my chimney going through its full repertoire of noise. I would not call it bird song exactly. But it is enthusiastic and it does cheer me up.

I've got courting starlings opposite my house - the female seems very unimpressed, but given the male's attempts to get her attention, I'm not wholly surprised...

I've got starlings nesting at the front of the house under the eaves. Sh*t everywhere!
I'll have the swifts arriving in a few weeks as well for their annual holiday/nesting trip......always love to see them and they generally arrive the same week each year.......fantastically bizarre.

Being a heavy, think back row forward, so yeah I work hard and struggle on the upslopes.

What cheers me up is the combination of gravity and bodyweight.

Example. On my normal route back to home village, 2km out there is a T and then a short sharp enjoyable down, nice end to cruise home. Today, got to the T, another slim clubbie rider went past, I started from stop, got into the mode, and blxxdy hell almost caught up with him by the bottom. Surprised me how close I got. See, heavy buxxers sometimes do better. #wellchuffed

Sun returns tomorrow and then around 20 degrees all week. Scots would have to stay indoors 24 hours a day in those conditions. Oh.....

Getting an email to say the Jigsaw puzzle I'm getting made from one of my photos has been dispatched. I haven't done a Jigsaw in decades and I'm looking forward to it far more than I should be.

Though true, I mitigate this with long John's and thermal underwear.

    Watching 'Harry's Garage' on Youtube.

    Ooh, what’s in Harry’s garage?
I’m cheered by the way Piña is cheered at having better weather than the south, shows how much better it is down here :D

He might have decent taste in cars but he's sooooo boring.
Have a look at Chris Harris on cars and the other presenters on 'The Drive' channel' FZ.

True, but I'd be happy with his car collection. I do watch a fair bit of Chris Harris on youtube, like this:

He's got a good taste in cars as well

Beth Porch on BGT tonight. She is just the most amazing young person, came up through the Devon Youth Jazz Orchestra (which I help run), has come through major health problems with a smile, trained as a paediatric nurse, and has the voice of an angel, with nerves of steel. And writes songs to bring more than one tear to the eye.

    Maybe not trivial...

Nope. I like the bloke and his videos. I find just sliding a car round a track every time boring. The fact he uses his cars on adventures and collects memories is interesting to me.

Yes, a good story (CH podcast). He had some balls to jump into something he didn't know and give it a try.

Yes, she was good. A talented and likeable young lady.
The mrs likes to watch it. Out of all the talent shows I have been subject to over the years, it is by far the most watchable.

I think they have made a big switch to focussing on successful acts too which I think is a good thing.
Much as the car crash acts are funny, it does feel quite exploitative and I feel this is something they have recognised. The couple of no’s I’ve see have been for people you feel can take the rejection and they haven’t been humiliated.

I know it's all manufactured entertainment, but it's nice to know that such a genuine young woman is able to shine here. I don't think it'll change her one jot. After all she's been through (the CV19 has been one of her lesser trials), it's good to see her bounce back in such a big way.

All that said, you'd never get me watching the show. ;)

    Not least as I haven't got a TV :)
