Waking up on a chilly autumn morning and then laying in a cosy warm bed with TMS on in the background.

Perhaps we could organise a collection?

I have a small collection Finchy, if you're willing to cover postage.

Thanks for the offer, but it's only a few and it's quite specific and I know where I can get my hands on them for nothing but postage.

Thanet sandstone, Lambeth Group sandstone/claystone and Thames Group claystone. As I say, fairly specific, and I know someone who has all of these. I've got quite an igneous collection already, mainly found by the side of railway tracks or building projects, and I've already ordered all the metamorphic ones I want for Christmas, but like I say, thanks very much for the offer.

Now I just need to think of some way to tell Mrs Finchy that my collection of geological samples is about to expand.

    Thanet ...offer.

Now I just need to think of some way to tell Mrs Finchy that my collection of geological samples is about to expand and I need at least 3 more display cabinets all in a new extension that we need to build on the house.

I'm sure you can explain geological thermal expansion and how your rocks will get smaller as the cold temperatures of winter are experienced. I'm sure she will understand :D

  • It's not 'spine chilling',and echoes the latter,so must be a Tawny.
    Thank you for the heads-up.
It only remains for me to actually see it but which I think is unlikely and would be a bonus.
