Often having to brake to join the main carriageway at the end of a slip road annoys me.

You need to learn how to drive. read Highway code 259...check the traffic on the motorway and match your speed to fit safely into the traffic flow in the left-hand lane.
    But that's boring.

Anyway, if I saw Stevo in my wing mirror hammering down the slip road ('cos accelerating downhill is great fun), i'd slow the f.ucker down.

I find that slower cars often try to do that ;)

It's a bit like an Electric car driver who drives around too slowly holding up lots of others but then tries to accelerate when you overtake him. Room 101 awaits for those types of drivers...
It's usually codgers in my experience. Mind you, that generally means they're driving a shyte far that's easy to overtake even when they're trying to stop you. If my window is open I give them a friendly wave after I've passed o:)

I suppose one good thing about Austin Allegros was that you knew that they were only driven by old codgers.

As for the takeaway every night - how the fark do people afford it!?

Speculating but they bought the house off inheritance.
Given the amount they must have spent* doing the place up and their lifestyle I guess chickens will come home to roost at some point.

*Hot tub installed at the start of 1st lockdown, new decking etc, etc. Used 3 times (that we know of) and currently in a state of disrepair as but one example.
Latest update on this as it has not been used since that post.
The hot tub is currently in the drive ready for the tip. That is one hell of a waste of money.

Oh, a wedding next month, and a child due the same month. I think that chicken will be home soon.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

True, although the Honda Jazz seems to be taking its place as the mobility scooter of choice for the current generation of codgers and biddies.

I thought Volvos were the sensible option for the 50s-60s.

Boomer haters should only be able to have a grievance if they were hatched. If not, then you were created by them so you should be silent by complicity.

I was created by my parents exclusively and not every single elderly person who lives in the country who individually I don't consider myself owning anything. Why should I remain silent when anyone regardless their age is being disrespectful to others regardless their age?

You should call out the individuals, not an entire sub section of society.

So we're at the point now where every single phone line to a corporate says, at any time of the day, they're "unusually busy" or are "taking longer than usual" to answer the calls.

Guys, we know the deal. You don't have enough people to answer the calls in a timely manner. No firm does. They're rubbish jobs that don't pay enough. Stop lying.

    Right?

Also, it may be the job, it may be the way my brain is wired but I find things so much easier to understand when I talk to someone than trying to parse stuff off the website which is inevitably designed to be flashy rather than present the information as I need to understand it.

Questions like "is this all that is available?" you can't ask online.

Also, most people seem to hate phone calls, but I get really annoyed when back and forth email conversations happen - it is such a waste of time. You can cover off a lot in 3 minutes.

Turns out my former employer gave the pension company *the wrong birth date* for me so I can't do anything without literally writing a letter to them, explaining they screwed up.

    They need:

    Your name
    Your date of birth
    Your national insurance number
Please tell us the company who set your pension up (if you know it)
If you believe we hold out of date contact details please give us your new details and we can update them
    Please request a pension statement
    Please sign the document
It is also useful if you could also send in a copy of identification enclosed with the letter

    What a faff.

    Slight tangent to the topic..

I find it annoying that a company can't/won't answer three emails asking "what went wrong with this booking?" (Secret Escapes in this case).

But are all over it like a rash the moment you ask the same question on their facebook page.

I understand the 'why' of it, but it's still bloody annoying, especially when you see how many operatives are manning that page.

The 'community forum' of a telecommunications company is another example. If you try to go through their online chat or calling, it takes an age and nothing gets done, but the forum page is way to go apparently.

I am of the opinion that Covid broke the resilience of all systems not only in this country but the entire western world. It's almost as if those who were being shafted realised just how much they were being shafted.

Will be good long-term, I suspect. I am optimistic about that.

Speaking to my colleagues in China, for all my West-bashing during the pandemic, the chinese haven't half got 2021 and 2022 wrong. Total disaster.

The backward thinking anti-cycling propaganda grows. Another great way to tackle the climate change 'emergency'.
I'm so against this, I'd consider either not following any new laws, just drive, or move to China for some freedom.

    Just had some thoughts.
How are they going to report you for not having plates if you don't have plates to get the details from? 🤔
Has number plates stopped drivers from breaking laws? 🤔
All cars are insured, right? 🤔
