You'd be surprised how much personal information you can harvest just from BR, especially if you've ever posted photos, which will be hosted by another site which will give further details. Add that to your Spotify account, which will have payment details stored somewhere.

People forget that forums are public.

People who think it is a badge of honour not to learn how to use modern computer software, especially if they are under the age of 40.

I don't know how to use modern software and have no desire to learn.

I cannot use my telephone, iPod or iPad properly.

I do not care because I find it all incredibly dull.

This is a contributing factor to what just happened to the NHS. People do not understand about security / passwords / encryption and it's starting to bite people in the ass. This ransomware or phishing scam can and does happen to every kind of person. Your phone or iPad which can have your entire life stored inside it and is so susceptible to hacking. And yet when it happens people demand someone (other than themselves) do something about it.

If you manage to hack my work email which is probably running the highest security in GB then good on ya.

Your email on DII is pretty bog standard. High security? It's only Offical. Not Secret DII (which as a medic you are very unlikely to actually have - I should know, I'm Royal Signals IS op! ) the amount of security breaches DII has had is actually pretty high. Consider that if you have an IGS account there are lots of sites you can get to that are not blocked.

Nah - we can't even get on Dii as it never works so the Russian lads have no chance.

If they ever do, can they forward all my emails to me please? I need to do MATT 6 as well through DLE so can they sort thatfor me as well please as I don't know where to find either MATTS, MATT or DLE.

Happy to supply my Email which considering My email provider has had so many breaches they can easily track my emails from my mates attaching random rubbish and 200,000 messages from Ribble, Planet X and Chai Reaction offering me never to be repeated deals.

Unfortunately them for them I don't know (nad don't want to know either) how to work my Facebook. If they do hack That they have a choice of seven suggested schools and two hundred people I may know who I actually don't know to choose from.

My original moan was about work related software which always progresses, then people thinking they are too high up/busy to learn how to use it meaning they make me do all of that sort of work. I don't mind doing the work but there are fundamental concepts that they don't understand which are vital to the way our business works, I've had the same argument about 100 times with my boss about something which takes up about 50% of my time, makes me wonder what he thinks I do all day!

Some people seem to take delight in the fact that they can't use a computer properly as if it's a good thing, I'm no computer genius by any means

    Also,

Race organisers (mtb in my experience) who write passive aggressive facebook posts about not getting enough entries to try and guilt trip people into entering. I understand it's frustrating but go f*ck yourselves, it's not my job to keep your races series running, blaming your entire target audience isn't going to help

And, I started using a different forum (sorry, please don't hurt me) which was related to an enjoyable but hard manual labour type job which I used to do and still have an interest in. Got some good advice on gear and some reasonable banter then strayed into the off topic section to find they are all total racists and generally unbearable, no point getting into arguments about the EU*, that would never happen on this forum would it?

*not at all suggesting leavers are racists, but these guys were just bloody stupid.

People with foldies who regularly leave them locked up at regular cycle racks at train stations.

It's a portable bike. Take it home with you, dolt. Those spaces are for the bikes that are BANNED from trains ie non-foldies.

It's just a hill. Get over it.

We had a warehouse manager that kept calling IT to look at their computer because the number pad wasn't working. Someone would have to walk across the building just to press the Num Lock button. Some people are too stupid to use technology. This happened enough to be known as the numlock virus.

People's obsession with the number pad on keyboards ...

They come to your desk to show you something and then get all p!ssy when the number pad doesn't work because I've turned it off as it's easier to type properly and use the actual number keys ...

I don't like the little light being on either so that combined with causing annoyance to nitwits who spend 0.01% of their working lives at my desk but still expect me to have things the way they like it means I always turn it off as a matter of course ...

That and muting the sound on the PC ... I don't need sound effects to do my job ...

Spanish youths. Why are they so much noisier than any other group of humans? And why do they onlycome in gangs of 40+?

Train currently full of them, yapping away. Reminds me if when I lived in Oxford, they always swarmed around Macdonald's....

It's not. I live in a small quiet village. Came out of the butchers and two lads (about seventeen I'd say) were walking past shoulder to shoulder. They were actually shouting rather than talking. Not arguing or anything remotely confrontational, just a normal conversation but conducted at a volume that could be heard in the next village.

When I was tied to a desk 20 years ago, we used to have a guy like that - you'd ask him to proof read something over your shoulder or ask his opinion on something and he'd change all the settings on your computer to match his even though you didn't need, want or understand them.

You'd then spend the next two hours trying to undo what he did......

Similar to those little fryer baskets and wooden boards you can buy if you want to copy the pretentious c*nty bar in town when having sliders, sweet potato fries and slaw.

Young V98 is looking at about £50k of debt by the time he's done as it's a 5 year course. Bloody ridiculous. One university even wanted 80% of tuition fees for a placement year.

    Its freakin' ridiculous.

My degree involved time in the States as well, so I had to pay all additional travel costs as well.

Oh well, the price we pay for the luxury of a university education.

I'm looking at starting another degree but this one will be paid for by work: no way at all could I afford to do it by myself.

I was the last year that could take a 'gap year' before fees went up to £9k a year plus £3k/a maintenance loan. My debt was about ~£19k in the end iirc, my younger brother failed his first year and quit so now has ~£12k debt for nothing. That would suck.

He looked at signing up to get his degree paid for by the taxpayer. He'd have to stay in the forces for a few years afterwards. The EPO put the kybosh on that, I could see the sense in it. I'd have thought a lad with a masters degree* in mechanical engineering is less likely to be used as cannon fodder.

    * Assuming he gets one that is.
