By (un)popular request, a thread to arrange a meet up for those in London.

We'll aim for within the next month.

Central London.

Ideally not in the next fortnight if you lot can avoid it because I'll be busy, and you naturally all want me there.

Let's also make it a school night - is easier to sort out.

So. Preferred locations and times please and we can begin to zero in on one that works.

Sounds good. Tuesday nights are a no-no for me.
It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.
  • Don't really know any cyclists, would be good to meet a few. Thursdays any good?
    Is the gorilla tired yet?

Ahh yes, be warned we're all a bit eccentric and never make eye contact.. however we can down a fair few sherries :)

I shall have a small Bristol Cream in that case.

Is the conversation any good though? I'll make sure my complete lack of knowledge doesn't inhibit me from having firm views about all things, so hopefully I'll be able to make a valuable contribution. Obviously I'll turn up in bib shorts - you can't catch me out there.

Im always rather keen to argue the toss between plastic frames and metal frames (aluminum not steel)

    Plastic is cheaper, right?

Actually, I didn't know you could get steel-framed sunnies any more.

Oddly enough, it is much harder to see this when it is a sticky. Set it free Mr Chasey.....

I'd suggest a Doodle, then you can just pick the most popular date.

    Ok. Here is a doodle.

Click "show all 12 options". Dates chosen based on Mr C's initial criteria.

Can't speak for anyone else but I don't generally pay any notice to the stickies as they're just 'always there'! I'm out on the grounds of being a provincial type who passes out at the sight of the price list in a London pub ;)

    OK guys.

It's looking like Thurs 8th or Thurs 15th.

I've prodded all the parties who have responded here, but aren't on the Doodle. I suggest in a couple of days we fix the date and pick a venue (central London pub I was thinking)

We appear to be going for Thursday 15th which sadly means a couple of people will miss out.

Has anyone got any suggestions for a venue. I was thinking perhaps on of those reasonably quiet pubs a bit north of Oxford St. Any thoughts?
  • I dont drink pints. Would I be forbidden from coming along :)

Hahah definitely! I added my availability a few days ago but I literally only saw this thread now. I'm sure 'un-sticking' this thread will make a ton more people see it.

Re locations - I guess central could be easiest for most...definitely a quieter and larger place than last time. I'm not so familiar with the pubs around there but could suggest a few near Liverpool st.

 I hope it's just a fill in job until something proper comes up where you can sit around doing nothing all day for large wads of cash. I've heard there's plenty of those jobs in the big city.
