Worth a watch.
You would think that it was some sort of comedy send-up.
Well unfortunately for the western world these bunch of knuckle heads number in the bloody millions.
Over 2 billions dollars this fiasco of an election is likely to cost and the boneheads are as ignorant as it gets, if you ever wondered why dipsticks like Bush and Romney get a following, well there's your answer.0 -

A lot of British companies are sponsors in the American Elections, Thatcher and Reagan both used the same Milton Friedman economic polices which have led to the current world wide economic crash, so don't think it can't happen here.... it does.
Most of us great British tax payers (apart from the money manipulators of course) are currently going through hell whilst those in power are busy trying to kick start the same old failed system again. Why you may ask, well basically it made a small minority very rich but it was a vehicle that couldn't be controlled (market forces) and ended up killing off those of us that fed this great greedy beast with it's insatiable appetite.
Apart from letting in a whole bunch of nutters/hypocrites in by voting republican it also lets a whole bunch of people who don't believe in any form of personal or collective responsibility for there actions, which is why they are so fond of going to war and exploiting others.
Does the company where you work sponsor political parties :?:
Quite.

Things to worry about if you don't want a Romney presidency: www.theatlantic.com/national/archive/20 ... ut/264494/"That's it! You people have stood in my way long enough. I'm going to clown college! " - Homer0

Right, election day is nearly upon us. Get yer predictions in folks.
Me? I'm calling it for Obama, specifically 281 Obama vs. 257 Romney.
You can use the BBC website to help with a configuration: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-19794259"That's it! You people have stood in my way long enough. I'm going to clown college! " - Homer0 -
Haha, Jay-Z at Obama rally in Colombus, Ohio: "I've got 99 problems but Mitt ain't one."
Polling day tomorrow, getting a tad nervous about a Romney victory now I must admit..."That's it! You people have stood in my way long enough. I'm going to clown college! " - Homer0 -

Not sure if someone's already posted this, but I was flabbergasted by some young-ish woman saying that there was no way she'd vote for Obama, because he was proposing to extend the Federal ban on civilians owning assault rifles. She herself owned two AR-15's (that's an M16 to you MW players out there). FFS, TWO??? The economy's going to hell in a handcart and all she's worried about is not being able to spray the scenery with automatic gunfire. Beggars belief, but I think serves to illustrate the point that language is the ONLY thing we have in common with most Americans."Get a bicycle. You won't regret it if you live"

You are correct nearer 6 billion but it's probably rising as we type. Interesting about language although as this clip shows it's not about language more how you use it... http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=Hz ... &vq=medium

As an aside, I've often wondered on what measure the president of the US is the "leader of the free world". It's a phrase that gets bandied about an awful lot but makes little sense to me.

If you assume that the majority goes to TV executives. They spend their money in flash shops who's staff spend their money further down the chain.
Simplistic and diluted but some does make its way down.
Having been in NY only a few weeks ago, where most advertising is based, there didn't appear to be too much of a recession and the flash gits were splashing the cash. ie it is going down the chain.None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.0 -

Then the great general public start paying through the nose for goods and services they buy all through the next term of office because the companies that made the donations then hold ransom over the then government of the day wanting a return on their investment. The biggest crime is the ignorant poor who get brainwashed into thinking that there small donations will actually end up benefiting them in any form other than the lesser of the two evils.
It's a nation that hasn't got the common sense to realise that one of the greatest wealth's is a person's health something we are quickly forgetting here by the way.0 -
I find it odd that Romney has unwavering support from the conservative christians and yet his Mormonism is really an affront to their entire religion.
...perhaps its just cos he's not black...... :shock:You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -

Here's a quick question before we all get bored and move on:
I understand the pres. is elected by a college, a number of people per state. If this is the case, why does the average Joe vote. Who are they voting for? Do they have any real say in this at all?
I've never really got my head around this bit.Ecrasez l’infame0 -

.. a quick question but no quick answers...

Remember that this system has evolved over our history and the voter of today is not the voter envisioned a couple hundred and some change years ago. There is a positive and negative to the system... but it could stand revision at the Presidential level (we've become so phreakishly polarized that this nearly 50/50 split over the past few elections will eventually bite us in the ass HARD).
On a plus side, everone gets the opportunity.
On a negative side, as happened with Gore V Bush, a system designed to trump stoopid gets stoopid and the wrong guy get's in.0 -
A close race to be sure, but glad that in the end Barack saw off Romney.
