I haven't dared look at the pic yet as I'm at work, but get well soon anyway !

A mate got doored by a taxi a while back - but in his case the door was swung all the way open and he ended up in the back of the cab, next to the very surprised culprit.

That's some 'hole' - wished I wasn't eating my lunch when I looked at it.

    Heal quick.

Thanks Chris, that'd be good. I'll pm you my mobile number. I have BC cover so was going to call them at some point.

Give BC a call as soon as possible. They will take down some basic details and pass it onto one of their affiliated solicitors who will contact you directly.

No I wasn't!! How funny! Well, not funny actually as it now looks stupid!
  • Here's hoping for a speedy recovery (and you're back on the bike soon).
Despite the warning, I had to look at the wound - looks nasty.

Brilliant! I must admit to thinking "why the hell has he done that?" Didn't occur to me that it was the autonanny at work!

That's nasty, get well soon - I was doored 20 years ago and since then have been very wary of the door zone.

I think they'll need a flipping net for that one.

That's horrible news, Veronese68. I hope you recover fully and are able to get back on your bike soon. I did not look at the pic, but I have seen at first hand what car doors can do to flesh and bone. All the best and I'm glad your bearing up well (I like the understatement in the thread title).

Not good at the moment - far too many posters with such incidents.

    Best wishes.

Trip to the hospital today. New splint on hand, much smaller but I can post gruesome pictures of pins sticking out of my knuckle if required.
They re-dressed my gash. Not nearly as impressive and only 12 stitches that I could see. Not particularly tidy, but a lot better than it was.
Ride carefully chaps and I hope to join you soon.
