  • Ouch! Was this the car by any chance?

It's just that your injury looks like the sort thing that might have been caused by a great white.

    Hope you mend soon.

Thank you. I did put a warning. I wouldn't post that in the body of text. Typing one handed is even slower than my usual.

I didn't even consider looking until Kieren suggested it _really_ wasn't for the squeamish. It isn't. I am.

Ouch, laughing hurts. :D I could post the pic of me from A&E or my legs i surgical anti-embolism stockings. Neither are a good look.
Just had a quick look at the bike. Right brake/shifter looks crooked and I somehow broke my bottle cage, no idea how. Otherwise reasonably unscathed. Might get it checked out properly. Other than Evans, who's my best bet near Kingston? Will Specialized report on a Kona?

  • Bloody hell. Not what I had imagined when I read your first description! I can only imagine how you felt when you first took a look at that. Hope they hide it well for you.

Wow - that is a deep hole! Staying doped up for as long as possible is probably the best course of action....its going to sting in the bath!

Hole was made by the top corner of the car door. I was right on top of it as it opened so I hit the back edge of the door, rather than the inside face.
Thankfully I'm not squeamish and watched as they cleaned it up. Wearing a glove that looks like there are no fingers in it is a bit odd. Straightened my finger out without thinking whilst the adrenaline was still pumping.

Bad luck pal, heel well and quickly. The photo looks remarkably similar to the serano ham i'm presently enjoying for breakfast, here in Cauterets. No Chianti for me though.

I'm not even going to go there (photo) but it sounds horrific. Make sure they give you plenty big prescription for top draw pharmaceuticals when they let you out. And heal up soon.

    All the best

Yes, that pic is a bit "meaty". I have to admire the way you played it down in the first post.

  • Really sorry to hear about this. Hearing about other people's accident increasingly gives me the willies.

And yeah, that is a proper hole in your arm, by any measure.

Really sorry to hear this - I hope you get well soon - I have only been doored once (passenger side again when I was in a bike lane) I was only doing 5mph and it still hurt loads - good luck in the recovery!
