My god, the adverts on ITV are utterly soul-destroying. At least Eurosport gives you some exotic locations to dream about.

Wonder what happened to Rowe. Didn't see head nor tail of him.

Jesus people are tetchy today. Why so bothered about Sky anyway? It's a small British race, would be nice to see an underdog win rather than a succession of boring Cavendish lead-outs.

Caused by spectators standing too far into the road on the outside of the bend.

Realised when De Maar went down, and I could see what he looked like, that he isn't the Demare I thought was meant when the name was mentioned at Gun Hill.

Because yesterday it was claimed Sky were too strong for the race. Today showed they're not. Seemed right to point it out.

Oh another 5 minutes of PPI, payday loan and personal injury adverts. Any chance of y'know, the results?!

Comment was aimed at Richmond not yours! Wasn't involved in yesterdays conversation so can't comment on that, was merely making a light hearted reply.

+1 you would think that the transponder things on the forks would be instant online as soon as they cross the finish...still a bit of a "chipper" even this.....it ran better in the days of Kelly,Millar & Joey McLoughlin 8)
  • Was Cav upset because he wanted to be back in his WC jersey as soon as possible?

Embarrassing performance from Sky, if they are saving themselves for the world championships, who is the rider they will support?

Fair do's, Leicester. Despite not being on the bevvies (apart from V&Ts for the Wiggo), it was a massive FAIL from Sky today
  • ITV co-opting Richard Moore to interview Leigh Howard...strange...

So now they're pitching it that Sky are riding for Knees...hmmm....no slouch, admittedly, German RR 2010 champ and all that
  • Poor old Sky, everybody hates them when they win and everybody laughs when they lose.

ITV4 pick a wonderfully picturesque part of Stoke for their post race analysis.

Can I get into B&M for free with my National Trust membership?

After watching yesterday's post race stuff I was inspired to visit Blackpool's Palace nightclub last night. WOW

I think it's clear that they couldn't be bothered today... that's about it.

With Wiggo and Knees in the selection it was fine. And then Wiggo decided to ride backwards. Very odd.

Nonsense - they bawsed it up big time - No Radio's = No decision maker on the road.....they should have left cavendish ...who else waits for a sprinter on a hilly stage ???

This race has provided more than anyone could have asked for, eh. Brilliant racing today. Been lucky with crosswinds and stuff throughout.
  • Theory (fuelled by coffee and cake): so maybe Wiggo decided to go back cos he felt that Cav had been left to fend for himself plenty during the Tour, and went back in a spirit of solidarity to ride alongside/lead him to the finish in the last stage race they'll probably be racing together

Yes, just showing they could not be arsed as a team to either work hard (in Wiggins case) or to enter appropriate riders (in management case)... I guess Lofkvist was supposed to be the "GC" guy to be there for these stages, but once he was not selected Sky just look like a team that don't care. Wiggins wasn't going to work for the win - partly 'cos it's a bit shit to beat up on the minor tours but mostly 'cos he's there for fun and PR. But Sky now look like they just don't give a toss about the Tour of Britain and it's pretty shit way to encourage racing on British roads.

    Disappointing from Sky.

So three stage wins and a second place out of 5 stages says they don't care?

For all we know, Cav wasn't well at all today - either dodgy pub grub, or caught something in yesterday's terrible weather, or worse, in Blackpool! The team nursed him to the line coz he's got three more days left in the bands.

I think to a certain extent i think Cav deliberately dropped back, after all every time he has been asked about winning / keeping the gold jersey he has basically said he didn't want it. Now he has taken all pressure off keeping and winning the tour by coming in over 10mins behind. He can now ride the entire tour wearing his "rainbow jersey" like he has wanted to do all along. I was however surprised at how the Sky Team reacted and rode today tho - didn't expect that.
