Dan Lloyd's preview

http://road.cc/content/news/66586-video ... in-stage-5

Didnt Cav pick up KOM points on Gun Hill last year, much to his amusement?

  • i love those dan lloyd previews - the ease with which he gets up Gun Hill - eek.
The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns
momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.
  • Yeah. he's good at these vids. Can you imagine Roger Hammond going similar for next year's P-R...??

That would be good but the difference is Roger Hammond has retired and Dan Lloyd is still racing (in the ToB) ;) I think Roger deserves a pie or two.

You'll laugh but I did actually tweet the idea to Roger and Dan - and I think Roger would be up for it but only if his new team management role allows..

Maybe he could do a full preview of P-R from the team car whilst eating pies.
  • Not sure that ALL riders want to eat pies as soon as they retire...but anyway...

Back to the race...well, well, Basso in a 3-man break

  • Back to the race...well, well, Basso in a 3-man break

Must have read the "Why is Basso here" thread.

I got measured for my wedding suit this morning, it would appear that I have been eating too many pies.

This is not the time or place for doping allegations!

Wiggo going back for cav and the peloton in bits ... Interesting

    Wiggans going backwards.... literally. ;-)

This is just a stroll in the park for him today. Did Cav have a mech or just grubbed going up the uncatergorised climb?

Shocking that Rowe never stayed with the lead group. Too much fannying about without radios?
  • Basso off the front, Cavendish out the back.
    Proper racing from Endura.

Anyone care to describe what's going on for the benefit of those of us without access to a feed? Thanks.

Mainly Endura (and mainly Bibby from what I saw) put a big turn of pace on going up some little climbs. Cav went out the back very quickly. Wiggins later on decided to go back for him - even though he had zero chance of bringing him back.

    Just started Gun Hill climb.

Basso & 1 other had a 3 min lead. Basso kept dropping him on climbs.

Going across exposed moorland after an uncat climb Endura put the hammer down. Cav was struggling up the climb.

3 groups formed and after some chat with Rowe Wiggans decided to hang back for Cav. Wiggo literally turned around and slowly wheeled back to find Cav.

Endura kept up the pressure, caught Basso and now going up Gun Hill. JTL is dancing up it with ease. House nowhere to be seen all day.

5mins 8 sec back to cav, wiggans & hunt.

Just back from the KOM point at Cannock Chase. Big crowds, free cuppa and cake and great weather. All Together there so all this must have happened later. Will post pics soon.

JTL crests Gun Hill a few seconds ahead of a couple of chasers (Coppel there I think). Should be a regrouping.

    Thanks.

So, am I correct in understanding that Wiggins rode back the way he'd come? I didn't think that was allowed for some reason...

Yes he did... looked to be only for about 20m until cars started coming.
