  • I think a majority of bottled waters are tap water, but I also believe there's all sorts of crap in tap water. They may pass "stringent" tests, but what are the tests they carry out.

water filtering with a proper filter is the best bet. Unless you can find a trustworthy spring water.

True about the limey water, annoying stuff. Nothing wrong with the taste though.
Best stuff was in NZ. So soft it hardly washed the soap off. Lot's of people don't even have mains water and rely on rainwater runoff.

AS for filtering water, just more profit for the woo merchants.

same as for bottled water, but with tighter controls.

Microorganisms are completely 100% eliminated, nasty solid particles are removed in coagulation and sedimentation tanks, then anything remaining is filtered out and disinfectant added (this chlorine means any bacteria added to the water between treatment and your tap is killed instantly, even in pipework that's nasty.

Periodical checks are carried out on all parts of the source and transit of the water.

Bottled water is just put in bottles from the source and scanned via UV to kill bacteria (which can sometimes grow in the bottle later on anyway since there's often no chlorine in them to keep them sterile afterwards).

So to answer your point, there is not "all sorts of crap" in tap water.

I seem to remember bigchris is our resident conspiracy theorist, so obviously doesn't trust 'Bigwater'.

  • So in other words we've all wasted our breath
  • So you drink chlorine..? Nice.

Water can be "alive" or "dead", look it up. Water that has been battered with chemicals and the like is most definitely dead. Considering we are water and the majority of what makes up this world is water. I believe there is more to water, than just a liquid that hydrates us.

I mean, I don't know feck all about the logistics of water or united utilities, but come on.

I suppose we get told the truth all the time...wait...HA.
  • So what water do you drink Chris?

No, since this is your stance on the matter, I'd really rather you explained it.

Bottled 'mineral' water can have all sorts of stuff in it. All the minerals of course (many can be sensitive to them), then we have the fact it can be stored in containers for long periods, dissolving part of it or leeching chemicals, exposed to heat and sunlight and so on.

'Dead or alive' water is pure nonsense.
  • I use 2 of these http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... 65637#tab3

    One of these http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165637

and finally one of these http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165637

Four locks for my bike attached to a steel tube from a trolly bay that goes deep into the ground, 2 locks go around the frame and through the wheels, the other 1 is through both wheels again and the d lock is a back up. I also park it where i can see it from where i work and so far of all the years ive been working and cycling, I've never had anyone attempt to steel it, but i have seen bikes being nicked from people attaching it to a scaffolding pole that snapped off when pulled with abit of force.

I also take off any lights and trip computer and take the seat with me when i start, putting a plastic cover over the seat hole to stop rain getting in.

The only problem is it take me about ten minutes to lock up the bike. But considering it would take me working alot to pay for a new one, not that big a problem.

Also all bottle water is just tap

I love water with added chemicals. Mainly malt and hops or coffee.

  • I never said I knew much about water and I never said I don't drink bottled or tap water. I know that BPA leeches into bottled water from the moment it touches the bottle. Aswell as everytime we touch plastic. We are stuck in this really, we don't really have the choice do we.

I personally drink sainsburys bottled water at the moment, mainly because it tastes half decent compared to others. If i wasn't ina shit part in my life i would TRY and source better, but that is not on the cards at the moment. That may sound like a sh1t excuse, but seriously.

How is dead and alive water nonsense...? Some people may be "sensitive" to minerals #somehow# but we do need these minerals for our bodies to survive.

    MY OPINION.

Dead or alive refers to the 'life force' that some people believe the water to have, 'energy' within it, it's ability to 'swirl' and other hippy rubbish. What do you think it means?

I like to boil my water and mash a nice Yorkshire Gold with it. Might try it with some of that sheepskin milk.....

    But it says this:
Is your water dead or alive?

Water is alive in Nature when found in its natural environment. When we use it, we treat it without any deep understanding of what water actually is. We do a variety of things to the water:

Pump it through miles and miles of straight and narrow pipelines.
Frequently use high pressure turbine pumps.
Expose water to numerous 90 degree turns.

    This causes the water to:

    Lose its Life Force.
Make it defenseless against bacteria and viruses.
Lose its ability to self clean.
Lose its freedom to follow its innate desire to move in spirals and swirls.

Life force? Self clean? Spirals and whirls? That is nonsense, as is making it turn 90 degrees harms it! Sure, the bits about hydration seem ok, but then at the bottom we get more junk:

"We therefore actually sterilize our blood when we drink chlorinated water, thereby readying ourselves for the onset of disease."

Exactly that. What don't /can't you believe about it. I'm curious.

I have not seen any evidence to suggest otherwise. If you can find me a peer reviewed journal that says water has an innate life force or energy, and is damaged by making 90 degree turns, than I am all ears. Or eyes.

Water does not contain such properties. It can have a lot of additives, but unless is carbs, fats or proteins does not have energy we can use.

    Fair enough, good point.

Would be nice too see some real proof. Imo they couldn't and wouldn't, even if they did.
