Van Avermaert goes, Gerrans follows and gets to him pretty easily.

Sagan doing the chasing for the peloton himself.

    Gerrans looks good....

Well deserved Gerrans. GVA did nothing for last 2k (I assume because he couldn't).

he was a fair bit more active earlier on in the race than Gerrans was.

You could see how easily Gerrans followed when GVA attacked.

    Not faulting him at all.
  • Love this Sagan guy.

How many days until Milan San Remo?

  • I guess this is the Simon Gerrans that Sky wished they'd signed.

Possible Worlds winner? Didn't think i'd ever say that.

    He still has no neck.

Surprising little fact*: Sagan hasn't won a one day race since the GP Kooperativa in 2009!

    *my facts are often wrong.
  • Amusingly I just sat down to watch the Vuelta highlights and Gary Imlach and Roger Hammond are discussing how GreenEdge are too busy making silly videos to take the racing seriously....

Just saw pokerface on that london-to-paris thing afterwards.

Not sure about the coverage of these amateur events.

I guess if you pay enough you get to watch your event on TV...

Cycling is so popular that the great British public are happy to watch a load of chubby corporate sportivers ride to Paris.

Should add i'm not watching it, i'm watching some real racing...with horses, a doomed break and a bored looking peloton. It's like July all over again, just need some crowds.

No interest in watching Moldova get spanked by a very average England?

Nah, saw the score at half time but can't be bothered to watch. I generally try and avoid watching England games to be honest, I can't cheer on the likes of Lampard.

Don't tell my dad, but football these days for me is just something to see me through the winter when there's no cycling or cricket on TV

Euro 96, now that was a cracking tournament.

This was my favourite game though... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kICI-TCaRhA

I have so many great football memories. Used to have a season ticket at Spurs when I lived in London, used to go and shout myself silly every game, loved it, even though Spurs were crap. Italia '90 was my first big tournament, Gazza's tears, Roger Milla dry humping the corner flag, Schillachi coming out of nowhere and winning the golden boot. Oh well, rose tinted spectacles are great.

  • Gerrans won...cannot have that guy win the Worlds and he wont.

Was there any action before the last few km?
