Harmon has always had it in his head that Zandio (probably due to the Spanish name) is an excellent climber. He isn't. He's probably a similar level to Flecha.0 -

Yeah, Harmon was over-egging it. Still a blow for Sky0 -

Team Sky's own website thinks similarXabier Zandio is one of the most respected climbing domestiques in the peloton and proved a huge hit during his first season with Team Sky.
Although the subsequent information below goes on to suggest a hard working domestique doing the unglamorous work in the earlier parts of mountain stages. I guess he does the Stannard / Pate type role on the stages when they can't get over the early climbs but this race has been lacking in those sorts of stages so far.0 -
Is the break going to stay away then? Should be a close run thing unless they completely crack on the climb.0
-
Hmmm... I reckon they'll be caught at about 1.5km to go.0

Welcome to the rough and tumble world of pro cycling - you have to do what it takes to get your man to the front on races like this. Froome had to push someone out of the way a few stages ago when they tried to muscle in on him.0 -
Shove man out of way, cause crash?0

Peloton 1.25 behind. They are going to get caught arent they.
Peloton flying and battle for position in full flow.0 -

No - shove man, make it apparent that you are having that bit of road and he backs off to avoid a crash. You'd be amazed at how stable those guys are on their bikes and the amount of contact (deliberate and accidental) that occurs in the peloton. Have a look for some old (before the commisaires got tougher) footage of track sprinting for an idea of how much contact they can take even at flat out pace or look at Japanese kierin racing for a real eye opener!0 -
