Lesson to be learned for Froome: stop letting Contador wheelsuck you for 5k. How he achieves that I do not know.

That's the most amusing comment I have ever read in here. Absolutele nonsense.

You are not seriously going to suggest Contador didn't sit on Froome's wheel for 5k. Refusing to take a turn when they were away from the other two. There is NO way you are going to suggest that.

Seemed a bit odd for Froome to put in a big kick in the last 2k. I thought he might have ridden at a normal tempo and anticipated Contador's attack.

I think he just saw the gap on the inside and instinctively went. Maybe trying to catch someone sleeping.

The thing is though, refusing to take a turn in that position is not a negative, its not like they were in a breakaway with 40km left to ride? They were battling it out on a climb in which moments before Froome attacked on, and then he seriously expects Contador to come through and do some work? If he wants to win, Attack.

I've always said sitting on wheels is a perfectly fine tactic when it's your best chance of winning. I've no problem at all with Contador not taking a turn.

Don't think it was really shenanigans from Froome, he gave Contador the option of them working together to distance Valverde and Rodriguez but Contador turned it down. I guess with Froome losing time at the end Contador's decision was vindicated, assuming he thinks it's going to come down to a fight between him and Froome for the GC.

    Sod off.
  • Dear Chris

That's twice now you've tried to get Contador to work to stay away from the others. IT AINT GOING TO WORK. Please try another tactic.

Talansky finished 11th. Now 16th on GC.

    Cobo 5mins down GAME OVER

Think VDB was over 10mins back. Dude, get off your bike and go home.

Any opportunity to use the word 'shenanigans'.

I don't think Contador should have any of it. Froome and Sky have been drilling themselves to set a seriously high tempo going into the climbs. Let him wear himself down. I do think Contador sees him as a threat, but he'll be happy if Froome keeps this up.

    Problem, Froome?
  • I think Froome lost focus a bit there, getting frisky in the last 5kms and then distracted by what Contador was/wasn't doing. Ended up handing rivals 14 seconds + time bonuses and showing them he's beatable.

  • Contador managed to end up as Piti's domestique, once again.

It's an interesting time for sky. Only one GC contender for a change, rather than two with one sacrificed to ride everyone else off. First time they need to be a bit cleverer about it.

Contador's suntan is at risk again as he can't help but to ride in the Froomey's shadow. I think AC is a Champion from the bottom order, he's got great ability but no class.

Think Froomey best sit on with a kilo to go as he can't do what the 3 wheel suckers can do. Froomey's TDF might catch up with him also. Not the best today. :(

Tomorrow, nice for the riders as it should be downhill. When I was young I did Font Romeau to Blanes and a nice ride to the seaside. Happy days!!

I think it's Froome that needs to be clever, that may be the problem.

Interesting race so far, feels like we're just seeing the early exchanges, everybody checking each other out. Glad the gaps are only small, hopefully Valverde and J Rod won't lose crazy time in the TT and we'll see a real ding dong battle.

    That final week is brutal.

Wait, so I had to watch 3 weeks of cycling where Sky did f'uck all and then read that Alberto, Valverde and Jrod are wheelsuckers with no class after a week of brilliant racing from the top 4 in the GC?. You almost had me there. Good one.

What nonsense - Sky did masses during the Tour - they controlled the race completely.
Contador had the chance to make it a two way duel for the GC, but chose to wait and wait and wheelsuck and then go at the end and blew his stage win as a result.

Of Froome's challengers, only J-Rod has any class.
Contador only looks comfortable climbing out of the saddle, so it looks like he's more attacking, but in reality he isn't, not to mention he and Valverde are both tainted.

Now that Froome is why you aren't first choice team leader. Ride to get rid of the others first and worry about Bertie later, if he gets the stage so what. We saw the other day that you can ditch Bertie. Net result today, further off the lead and had to dig deep to limit losses when you should have pulled out a lead on all but one rider. Still, at least the wheelsucker didn't win. I assume Bertie is no longer on Frenchie's Christmas card list as we all know how he feels about wheelsuckers ;)

Yep, the way Sky stayed away from the front and refused to work for 3 weeks whilst Wiggins just waited for the TTs was terrible wasn't it?

It was the most boring piece of cycling I had seen since Armstrong, yes. Did Wiggins' pulse hit 70 at any point?

Fine, you may have found it boring, but to say Sky did **** all for 3 weeks was plain stupid and ignorant.
