He always fell short and was not in the same class has FC & TM. I don't understand how an Olympic track gold medallist all of a sudden starts to dominate ITT when he could not get a decent result for 10 years. I know a lot of you will say he never trained serious until he was at Sky but that looks mighty suspicious to me. When the tour had a ITT In London you thought he would have wanted to win it. Even at Garmin when he rode 4th at the tour is TT was still way short of TM and FC.
I don't see why so many of you get so upset and angry when Wiggo or Sky are mentioned as though they are the bench mark for clean sport. After all their first year was a disaster then the second year it got really good.
Anyone know when they hired Leinders
I bet I get called a Troll ,,,,,again
Well, the facts are he got better at it. If drugs are the reason he got better at it then fine, is there any other reason a cyclist can get better at something? Or is it best to entertain the idea that it's drugs as default?
Have you ever got better at anything?
You have not disagreed with me. He has got better at ITT. How he got better is up to an individuals own opinion.
Have I got better at anything? I will get back to you on that one0 -
It's simple ,teams doped at that time, all the main GC contenders doped. So dope and get a contract and be of use to the team or don't dope and go away and ride somewhere else. It's the harsh realities of the sport. That's what was expected. It was the way of cycling not just the way of Armstrong as people seem to think.0

I'm not calling you a troll, but I'm curious why you make this stuff up and present them as if they're facts?
Wiggins won plenty of TTs before he joined Sky. He also beat Martin before he joined Sky e.g. both Prologue/TTs '09 Tour, and others eg P-N, Eneco same year.
It took Martin several years to beat Cancellara - as it did Wiggins. Its called progression.
ps. I live in London and I'd love to win a Tour prologue - but funnily enough it just doesnt seem to happen0 -

Cleared that one up for all to see.
Haven't you just proved conclusively that he confessed rather than was busted as such? He was approached by investigators and USADA asking him for information which he gave. I imagine they were able to apply some pressure and I doubt he was particularly willing to give the information. However, he was not busted in the sense of failing a test or being issued with a charge prior to providing his information.0 -

The point being, he has not confessed of his own free will

I won't call you a troll but I ll call you an idiot that could nt read a results sheet if it was written in crayon...
Or what RR said I suppose,
I won't call you an idiot because that would only make me look like an idiot
Fact is , He won jack sh%t on the road for nearly 10 years . he beat no one of any real standing for nearly ten years then all of a sudden he becomes the ITT Fav and wins a Tour ...that's A FACT idiot,,,doohhhhhh0 -

You already look like an idiot I'm afraid....
Well if you think the track is the same as the road then your the one who looks like an ,,,"dare I say it" ," its to easy". " do I sink to name calling because someone has run out of intelligent words"
"No I will be the adult and move on "0 -
I tend to stick with the theory that if you find yourself arguing (rather than discussing) a point with the same person any more than 3 posts it becomes tiresome ... I also know not to multiply my responses by the number of people I'm arguing about the same thing with ... :?0

hah course you will sunshine
Yes it's the same, of course it's the flipping same there are only so many ways to ride a bike FFS!
Anyway I've suddenly remembered why you re blocked...We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Wiggins has had years of learning to hold a high threshold on the track and has taken it onto the Road. However his reaction to licking LA's a$$ to suddenly calling him out etc just smells to me. As does all the stuff with Kimmage etc.
I dont know Wiggins, but from what I have seen of him etc, I really dont like what I see. But, I dont know the guy so this is only what I have seen at Races and on interviews etc.
IMO The only way Sky can been seen as clean is by publishing Data (along with other teams, it needs to be fair). Will be interesting to see the Dawgs time up Hautacam next season....0 -

I totally agree with your last comment. I mean riding a bike up a big mountain fast, calls for the exact same skills as them chaps who chase the pizza delivery guy round the track until he runs out of petrol. What year was it that Chris Hoy zoomed up the Ventoux and only got 2 mins on Contador .
Sunshine is very nice, I 'll take it 8)0 -

Skill has nothing to do with it; it's physiology that's important. Maybe you should go away and read up on physiology for endurance sports so that you look a little less clueless.0 -

Your right, it is the physiology of the individual athlete. I did know this but in my haste I put skill.
I made a boo boo and I admit it. Does not make me clueless, but your response is petty and perhaps you could have let it go but that's your problem and I'm sure your seeking help.0 -
