Ugh I'm fed up with these now. Having to use literally all my strength + leverage against a wall to clip in isn't going to work for me out on the road.
The right foot is doable from standing but the left foot is nearly impossible to engage while standing and absolutely impossible to engage while seated with the right foot locked in.
Am I too light for these? Or have I set them up wrong? :?0 -
How many times have you done it now? Have you placed some light action grease on the surface and spring mechanism?
It will not be due to your weight, its more of a knack. Always clip in when the crank arm is facing down as you'll have the most leverage to clip in.
It definitely will take some patience but they may not be for you.0 -
I've lubed up the cleats and pedals a bit. The right foot is doable and I'd be confident doing it outside from a standing start.
The left one I've barely done because each time I try I almost burst blood vessels in doing so. :x
Un-clipping is fine.0 -
Well I made it to Brighton with the zeros and only managed to fall off once when I got confused after taking a wrong turn and forgot to unclip while staring at a road sign.
Bike was okay but I shredded my calf on the chain ring teeth lol. The left pedal is still a bit awkward but luckily you can sort of pedal unclipped until you get it locked.
I did feel the performance enhancements relative to flats so I guess I'm a convert now.0 -
Good to see you made it (on some level) unharmed, but even more importantly, glad to hear the bike took no damage.0

OP, I think you walked past me as I was sitting outside GBK in Brighton on Sunday. Bike looks really good in the flesh. Did you really ride from London with a rucksack on though?! Assuming it was you, of course...0

Borrowed a DSLR from work and tried to take some better shots. I'm just as much of a photography noob as I am a cycling noob though...

Probably lol, what's GBK? I really wanted fish & chips after my ride and was walking around cluelessly trying to find one not too far from the train station.
I always ride with a rucksack, but I probably carry way too much.0 -
GBK is Gourmet Burger Kitchen, check it out as they do great burgers. Just so you know fo rnext time, all the good chip shops are on the sea front, Buddies is a favorite of mine.0

Great photo's... 8) I ordered this model last night, but went with the Ritchey WCS finishing Kit and stuck with the Cosmic Elites... For the price it is ridiculous value for money, can't wait for 'New Bike Day'...Rose XEON CRS50000 -

As it's your first road bike you might want to get a proper bike fit as the way you have your stem/bars/hoods setup is a bit contradictory.
Why would a Campag groupset NOT work on a Rose...?Rose XEON CRS50000 -

Perhaps he meant it's not an Italian thoroughbred or something? I reckon SRAM Force or Red would definitely look good on it too, but I'm happy with how Chorus looks/performs. I like how you can shift through multiple gears in one movement.
Hope you enjoy your new Rose! I've been loving mine so far.0 -
I'm getting the crs 3000. I'm going for the same size. 51. Could you tell me your inseam and height? Maybe the standover height too?0
