Since my mum bought me a nice comfy one a few years back, religiously every day. Only cost £30, been worn pretty much every day for almost 2 years, and still going strong (thankfully no crashes), so I think its a good investment considering I only have 1 head, but hopefully many £30 cheques!!!
Must admit that before that I did have a helmet, and I did attempt to use it every time I rode, but if I had left the house without it on, I wouldn't bother going back to get it. Now I do, but then again now I have been able to add 10mph or more to my avg speed, so falling would hurt more0 -

I don't leave the house without full airbag suit - in dayglow, full facial helmet with a flashing amber light on top. Just to make sure I'm really safe I carry a proximity alarm and if anyone comes within 10m of me it fires off a 160db alarm ...
btw - your poll is flawed - it doesn't give the right options for all scenarios - a bit like legislating safety kit - it's not always going to work in every situation ...0 -
Can't really think of a valid reason for me not to wear one.........0

Can you think of a good reason not to wear dayglow clothing?
Can you think of a good reason not to have your lights on all the time?
Can you think of a good reason not to have a flashing orange light on top of your helmet?0 -

If folks don't want to address the issue then move on to another thread. I do, and I do wear a helmet and I would not go out without one0

Pointless thread....
You wanna know why? ....Quick answer, go outside, watch cyclists ride by and count how many wear helmets,
Who cares?0 -
Waste of time and space.
Who keeps a reflector on their bike?
Who uses a bell?
Does my bum look big in this?0 -

Why bother putting EPIRBs in aircraft or boats? They hardly ever crash or sink.
What's with life vests on planes? If you ditch at sea you're going to die anyway.
I wear a helmet. Always do. Wouldn't be without one. The only two times I've crashed seriously my helmet took a heavy knock, but not my head. they offer good, lightweight, comfortable protection that is entirely relevant and appropriate to the degree of risk inherent in cycling.0 -

All good questions. If I could demonstrate to you that by wearing a diamonte tiara all the time you would be 0.0000000000000001% less likely to be hit by lightning, would you wear it? If not, why not?0 -
Its simple if you fall on your head without a helmet you have a cracked skull,simples......0

If helmets offend you so much don't pissing wear one. It will never become law to wear one as it'd be to hard to police.
I wear one but then again I also have to wear 5 point ppe (hard hat, steel toe caps, glasses, gloves and high vis vest) just to do a bit of soldering, so a helmet really doesn't feel like a chore.Scott Foil - viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=129827790 -

I wear one. It doesn't affect me at all and it adds a bit of protection.0

The topic!
If you want to wear one wear one and that's it, it's an individuals choice, I'm not sitting on a plane or boat with a couple of hundred people I'm on my own and I'm not going to get a £60 fine either.0 -
