    yes.

Maybe he'll lead out Cav and then keep pushing for Silver?
    not possible

why not? it's not like it's a tour stage where they'll all get the same time and they can have another crack tomorrow. If it a sprint on the Mall and if Cav is led out by Team GB and Eisel and if Cav leaves his sprint until late then why not keep pushing and hope for the best for silver and bronze?
because of many other faster guys will pass him, Sagan, Greipel,Goss, Gerrans Rochas, Boonen etc if it was Renshaw then almost possible, you may as well ask why GB cant get 1,2,3 by your thinking, just lead it out and stay there.

1-2-3 won't happen but 1-2 or 1-3 isn't out of the question. It depends how it looks when they arrive on the mall. Look at the lead that Cav had on his first Champs Elysee victory all due to a bit of a cock-up by the rest of the sprinters trains in the last right hander. Cav and Renshaw suddenly had 100-150 m advantage and came home 1-2 IIRC.

Gilbert hoping to exploit lack of radios perhaps? Stay in front of the break and when the break is swallowed they don't notice he's still away?

they supply some of the pics, but do not do graphics or choose which camera is showing. they just supply the feed which the olympic TV directors then use
