this is so boring - even 6 riders with daylight ahead of the peloton is barely a stimulus.....maybe i should go out on my bike , even i would be quicker than this pace.

First time you've watched the final stage of the Tour? It's always like that.
no, far from it, maybe I have turned the TV on too early in anticipation of the momentous Wiggowin!

a shame Wiggins didnt top Spartacus in the time trial - or if he had, and it not been for the seven seconds that Wiggins lost to Cancellara in Liège, he would have been the race winner and worn the yellow jersey from start to finish!

That would have been little short of an un-mitigated disaster - Leaving aside the great sporting achievement that that would have been - can you imagine just how more negative the views of this years race/parcours wouldve been? If anything, it could undermine or "de-gloss" Brad's victory by giving the impression that there was no opposition in the race and/or the race was over-controlled.

Interesting stats via Irishpeloton on twitter

Liquigas are finishing their 11'th grand tour in a row with all 9 riders. Even more amazing when no other team has finished all 3 GT's in a year with all their riders.

Ha, good one, very impressive. My favourite team - GT superstar pros.

ah! a boat on the river - excitement...... in paris at last .

How i would love to see a Sky train lead Cav out for a bullet-like finish like the other day. That would be perfect

Eurosport open with 10 minutes of cringing embarrassment. Maurice Green trying to interview various riders, some of whom don't recognise him.
I'm glad Vince Nibs rides a bike better than he speaks English!

Nice shot of all the jersey wearers in line abreast, spoiled by that awful, red dalmatian look of Voeckler's.
    Truly vomit educing.

The Maurice Green bits were topped by Harmon interviewing Abdu!

Edit: ...and Stephen Roche saying this year's race was dull.

Is Chris Anker Sørensen contractually obliged to put in a solo attack here at some point? Could be nasty with that hand on cobbles...

Greenedge have done nothing this tour. They basically had a team for stages or sprints and whenever there is a sprint on they don't even put guys on the front to pull it back. Hope they get a few comments in the pelotob

What a sight! Yellow jersey powering into last km. biggles and cav finish it to perfection.
    Speechless and a tad emotional.

Can't be bothered with the UK reaction to the win but a first time winner (who didn't fluke the win (Sastre)) ... Done the business all year ... Well done ...

Sagan was coming up fast in overhead. But good sprint from Cavendish, very long

Good finish. Wiggins turned on the gas and took EBH and Cav to front wheel then Cav went for a long one. Huge to hold that. He loves that finish. Sagan came from a long way back, nose in the wind, to take a great second.

    6 wins by Sky!

Feckin awesome. It doesn't get any better for a Brit. I may never see England, or a British team for that matter, win a World Cup, but this is every bit as good. Wiggo won it for Cav today, blew the rest away in that final km.
