I thought teammates weren't allowed to go one after the other? Shouldn't Froome and Wiggins have someone between them? Or am I making up rules in my head? :D

IIRC That was the case 2 or 3 years ago with the Schleck brothers being separated, however last year the 2 brothers started back to back.

The commissaires can change the order if they think it could cause a problem - either from a sporting or logistical viewpoint - but usually they don't. With three minutes between Froome & Wiggins, there's not likely to be an issue.

A 15 km/hr wind is blowing from the NW, so initially a headwind then later from the side.

Engoulvent was only 4 secs quicker than Ghyselinck so keeps the Lanterne Rouge (unless Farrar took over 5 mins longer than Engoulvent).

Reckon Wiggins will do a time of 1.02.30 in those kinds of conditions, I expect Froome will suffer more and be 1min30s behind Wiggins...

I know they don't like to be separated, but that's taking it to extremes (and I'm not quite sure how the pedalling would work either).

Phil thought he saw him and talked about him for a while before realising that it was Kloeden...

Not sure that Chris Froome is looking too happy in this time trial

TJVG fastest at Check 1. Which means Evans is having an absolute stinker (I thought it might just be the wind changing)

Evans knees come up past his elbows, so his elbows are out wide. Has he always ridden like that? Seems v weird for an accomplished TTer.

    Liking Europcar's "reverse golfball" helmets.
Any aero-advantage, however, seems to have been lost on Tommy V!
And, I'm well fecked-off with this "At least one new post has been made to this topic. You may wish to review your post in light of this" malarky!

Just guessing here, but given that Wiggins is known to be able to judge his output and ride right on the limit (he was one of the very few that did the 2nd lap at the world champs TT faster than the first) then I reckon the gap to Froome could be fairly large by the end of this stage.
