Looked like he was getting pushed quite near the barriers about 1km out. Would have liked to see the overhead from further back. Excellent job threading his way through the pack. I thought he'd got stuck far too far back to have a chance.

You guys see that bottle? I hope it bounced out and didnt get thrown.

It was actually thrown by that Argos rider... what a muppet. Glad I wasnt the only one to spot it.

Think Cavendish's positioning won him that, didn't seem to have the kick he's had in previous years. Dullest stage for this year's race so far.

Onward to Stage 3, should be far more interesting! :D

It's got to be that he feels less pressure.

He's just said precisely that in an interview with Ned Boulting. He also described himself as a 'added value' rider in the Team. Very understanding of what he has to do then! ;)

Think that was actually Hagen. Cav was even further back.

Yeah, clocked that too, not cool. Just glad no one came down because of it.
    Awesome win by Cav though.

What a weapon, the sort of thing you see in a 3rd cat race! Just lob it over the crowd if you don't want it. Better still, don't worry about it, you're not going to win anyway so who cares!

    Correct, he was further back.

Carlton got confused with Hagen's stripes.

    Sagen has Green jersey.

Not sure who's updated Cav's wikipedia entry but I don't think it meets their editing guidelines!

Is there anyone here that still thinks he's actually riding for GC? Come on...

Garmin really need to move on from Farrar don't they.

  • That bottle tossing was very bad, the riders really should know better. I know that have weedy little arms but surely they can do better.

I think cav won because of that stupid looking zero vent helmet............... i can't imagine it helps keep you cool.

Yep, and have done for the last 3/4 years or so...but then there is no other US sprinter around really (or if there is, he's very well hidden) and I presume they want to stay US...

I think Cav owes Green Edge a Fosters for that one or maybe even something the locals have- :D

Oh wait, it was "vainqueur". :D
