If I had to guess I'd probably be able to hold around 170W for an hour at the moment. But as I say, that all just estimates taken from long loops, so take with a pinch of salt.
Ha, yeh I realise it's an exponential curve. Since I'm not putting out much power at the mo at least I have some room for improvement.

ah I see Strava Racing ! Don't know much about it, other than I met a guy lat weekend on my ride who said, this is a Strava course, I said where, he pointed it out. It was about 100 metres :roll:
It's not about power, everyone has the power ! It's about being able to keep up higher efforts, withstanding the extra pain, latic build up, breathing harder, if you train progressively and don't just go out bashing it, then you will slowly start to go faster over a long period of time of course it will hurt just the same as riding slower now, just that you will go faster.Team4Luke supports Cardiac Risk in the Young0 -

Nope, I've not ridden motocross before. I'm too old and aware of my limitations to start learning that now!

Don't knock Strava, I find it useful. You can set up your own segments, and if you know about training they help a lot. Sadly there are a ton of segments set up by commuters and people who simply use it as Facebook fodder.
I've an idea how to be training well. Unfortunately I ride with a guy who works 9-5 and tends to just blast it so hard twice a week that it takes me 2 days to recover from. I'd far rather be doing a lot of variety every other day or so.All the above is just advice .. you can do whatever the f*ck you wana do!

Yes to Strava as a training aide.
making your own segments is key - I have only made a few and actually 'own' a KOM on just 1 of them... it will be have to be one time pressed commuter to want to do 1 and half mile at 2% at the speed I have set
(oh.. just to clarify... that segment is repeated at least 3 times for the 'training effect' that I cant get on the turbo)
