As a pro i would wear the one i am PAID to wear. Choice does not come into it. If my SPONSOR wants me to sell a new helmet by sticking on my melon I would do so - even if I looked a tit doing so.

Of course they have choice. Look at Sky or Lotto, they have aero and non aero road helmets avaliable to them and you will see different riders using different ones on different days.

I reiterate my earlier point... It just looks so awful that I'd rather be 17 seconds slower over 40km.

Looks like Sky have been looking at some custom gear to try and get their porky Dogmas down to the weight limit for those "high" mountains

I've thought that myself watching him in the past, being the same height as him it makes me wince the thought of begin in such an aggressive position. He obviously finds it comfy and has some serious core strength.Gazzetta67 wrote:Sonny73 wrote:

It's the normal bike set-up for guys over 6ft with long femurs who race. It looks like a crazy drop to the bars but it's not as aggressive as it looks. I ride with a large drop to the bars also and its very comfy.0

Ah ok, fair enough. I do ride a relatively relaxed set up tbf. I guess thinking about it you are spot on as Millar and Wiggins for example run similar set ups.
