That's a lot of bike for the money..... Of course you could spend £800 for di2 upgrade kit then sell mechs plus shifters that come with it, you won't have much change from £2k but you would have one hell of a bike...--

'The category 3 describes bikes and frames which display slight signs of wear and tear. These may be, for example, bikes which customers have returned within 30 days and have already been ridden two or three times. It is also possible that it is a bike has undergone a test ride. The cassette and chain are just about meshed and display no measurable signs of wear and tear. The frame and also the components may display scratches, damage to paintwork and colour deviations. As with all Outlet-bikes we give the same guarantee as on a current serial bike on all bikes in the category 3. Furthermore, the bikes are all built up by our workshop staff, checked and, if required, readjusted.'0 -
Ah see that.
SO CLOSE to buying that.
Put £100 down to test a couple bikes, Willer Izoard and the Mercxk EMX 1 in Evans on my way home.
May have to buy this and just turn up, pick my £100 up, test ride them, and go back home to that canyon.
F*ck it, let's go for it.0 -

Good buy indeed.
Did it come with a big bullseye to pin to the back of your shirt? That will be FCN Zero for sure, and you are going to be a scalp target big time on one of those..Open One+ BMC TE29 Seven 622SL On One Scandal Cervelo RS0 -

Unlikely I'll be commuting in on it much.
I'll probably be joining a club as soon as I've got it set up. Exciting.
Not so excited about the conversation with the girlfriend.

Been browsing the Canyon site off the back of your purchase
I'm liking the look of their Di2 for a few hundred quid more - will be asking how you like your Canyon when I get around to buying my next 'best bike'0 -

.
Just looked at the weight. Claims it's 7,2 kg.
If that's actually correct that's beyond ridiculous.
Combined weight of me and bike, adding a few KG for clothers etc would be circa 65-66kg... 68 if we're including two bottles.0 -

I hold you lot entirely responsible.
Anyway, I'm still young enough that it's my money, not 'our' money...
But ssssh.
I'm just going to eat out less for a bit. Hopefully will be too busy tearing it up round Richmond park (though we'll have to see how fast I actually am with some proper kit round there...).0 -

Hope you enjoy it, fantastic bike for the money. That weight's probably not a million miles off either due to the top quality finishing kit. Decent tyres on it too, both areas where other manufacturers scrimp.
You know you have to use it on the commute and become Canyon Man 2 in the SCR thread"Mummy Mummy, when will I grow up?"

I've just had a look at the equipment tab on the Canyon site. Is the chainset really 50/34? Seems like a smallish big chainring to me.
That gives 'only' 119.5 GI, which seems a little low to me. Maybe I'm wrong.FCN 3: Raleigh Record Ace fixie-to be resurrected sometime in the future

50 / 34 is standard compact gearing.

Most bikes out there will be sporting 50/34. It's what I ride as well. As long as it's matched well with the cassette, there's no problem.Ben

Does anyone here actually feel they need a double? I've never had a problem with spinning out on my compact.0
