I guess Guardini is really worried about the cut off he decides to surf the first climb from the break!

    going for the sliding room...

flecha to push the break on so the jrod is out of the points

    he could end up surprising

I think it's a pity they didn't do 3 high mountain stages back to back. That sorts the men from the boys.

It hasn't been an absolutely vintage Giro, but the fact that we are going into the final 3 days with as many as 5 riders who could conceivably win is definitely an improvement over last year.

Wow. Didn't realise the Stelvio was quite that high. People are going to have some trouble :)

  • It would be really interesting to see this table expended into a top-100 GT climbs listed (or even published - a la "Top 100 Climbs in the UK") as a means of comparing their lenght, steepness and overall difficulty...

..and it would make a good coffee table book and masochistic-holiday guide for us lot too :)

Mostly downhill, tailwind and warm - explains the high speed.

VDV dumps his chain and gets it jammed. The attitude of the chap who came to help him says it all (frantic). It's a biggie today, and they know it.

is this climb the highest of the day? as someone noted earlier Stelvio is very high - and it is still a closed road because of snow. I hope we are not going to miss that spectacle tomorrow as a result.

  • About 12 or 13 riders in that break too...

The Cav-bus already formed in amongst the team cars...

Yes at ~2040 metres...some 700 less than the Stelvio tomorrow.

Volunteers to be drafted in tomorrow am with shovels to clear the road?

Pinotti reckons Phinney still has enough form to take the TT on Sunday.

He wants the final TT. I hope he makes the cut today/tomorrow.
