Given the weather though - do you spend the afternoon enjoying the sunshine on your bike and then watch the highlights later, or sat indoors watching the Giro...??

I've got a knee injury, so I couldn't even if I wanted to

It will be sunny next week.

Rambo leads the mountains classification so some more points today could go down well.

Fyi, Nibs attacked on the descent last year. Got 30secs by the bottom. That was the MONSTER stage (Contador's hardest day in his career) and Nieve's superb ride.

That is a decent break. Serpa is pretty damn good in the mountains.

Proper hills at last. Can't believe the first one was only a 2nd cat! Haven't watched the Giro many times so not familiar with the Passo Giau - looking forward to it though :)
  • Lead group just under 4 minutes on the peloton currently...94 kns to go

Passing the turn-off for the Fedaia-Marmolada – love this area, so many great climbs.

It's as hard as Alpe d'Huez. Gets the afternoon sun too.

They've just passed a turn-off for it on the last descent, but will be looping back here via a ridge of cols from further down the main valley.
  • Stunning scenery :)

Uran would appear to fancy himself downhill. Maybe he'll take a flyer with Gadret again.

Or maybe he'll take a flyer into a river again...

Really wish the TV coverage was genuine HD. Falling in love with Italy despite only ever having been to Rome for a weekend. Had planned going to the Lakes last year but couldn't afford it :(

    Some news on Frank Schleck.
Initial examinations on his shoulder showed “a hematoma in both my neck and the articulation that I dislocated. These are putting pressure on the nerve system and are the cause of the pain. Besides this, I still have the inflammation in the left leg, from overcompensating the painful shoulder with a cramped position on the bike.”

Here come Liquigas to set tempo until 250 metres before the summit of the Giau. Then Basso will unleash his fury.
